  • hey Tracey, I'm glad you guys had a great time in Nashville! How's your Sunday going? I woke up at 3am and decided to cook some short ribs. I didn't plan on waking up that early but i do that once in awhile and since i didn't have to work today anyways, might as well make the most of the time! That will be my "braising" recipe for the July cooking challenge :) Made the house smell really good too. I ran all my errands for the day so am just kicking back w/the boys. It's kinda hot/humid here so we're just inside. I bought the series "The Tudors" on dvd yesterday at the Goodwill 2nd hand store for $4.00. You liked that show, right? i may pop that in today to start watching. Is FLA for vacation? where will u be going? maybe u can visit Kelly while you're there!
    Bristol Tn is about 45 minutes from Greeneville. Bristol is growing and Greeneville is not. Although the population did increase by two in May. Does Walter travel to your Grandfathers when you come to see him?
    hi Tracey, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, to you and Ray!! I loved that photo of you two on FB! You look gorgeous!!! is that a recent shot? I couldn't comment on the FB photo b/c today i'm sick at home and i didn't want my co-worker friends on FB seeing i'm surfing the net when i'm supposed to be sick. Well, I really am not feeling well but i'm just paranoid, lol!! Hope u have fun today and tonight in Nashville. I visited once in the 90's when my cousin got married to his first wife there. We stayed at the Grand Old Oprey Hotel and then i remember going to some amusement park there. Anyways, i want to go back one of these days. Hope u enjoy!!
    Greeneville Tennessee. We are famous. Home of President Andrew Johnson. We probably get over 1000 tourist a year. Greeneville is the only Greeneville with an E between the N and the V. We are between Knoxville and Johnson City. Pretty exciting. Right?
    I was quite surprised that he would show up like, but yes, he was just standing there at the bottom of my front steps! I'm not sure how much snooping it really took, we live in a pretty heavy foot traffic area in Dupont and we're half a block from the park, so I'm sure he saw me going into or leaving my house or he could have asked someone at the park that didn't know about the incident and they may have innocently pointed him in the right direction. Unfortunately, the police can't do anything unless he does it repeatedly, it's his word against mine that he was just passing by. I've never tried coconut oil on Ruckus before, I'll have to look into it because I definitely don't want scars on his head.
    Hey, thanks for asking! Ruckus is doing just fine, aside from the nasty gashes on his head that I really hope don't leave scars. When I said that I'd have to take my dog to the emergency vet, he laughed at me and said he hoped that I didn't expect him to pay for it, and told me good luck trying to call animal control because he would just say it was my dog's fault. I did call animal control...I did call and they home quarrantined his dog for 10 days, which made him angry I suppose, he figured out where I live and was waiting for me outside my house when I got home from work one day with his and a friend, and they yelled at me on the street about the whole incident and told me that he's glad his dog bit mine, that Ruckus deserved it, and that I have a crappy (not the word he used) bulldog. This whole thing is so unbelievable it feels like a bad dream.
    It's very hot and sticky here. How's it over by you?

    How is everything going? are u enjoying the wknd? I hit a couple yard sales during my walk yesterday and got some cute stuff--a pair of True Religion jeans for $2 (!!), a DKNY leather red purse, also for $2, a pretty oil painting, a summery black dress...It was so much fun. I love going to yard sales, thrift stores.

    Okay, gotta go b/c Finn is whining...he's such a baby!! Have a good one, Tracey :)
    :hiii:!!

    Well, that's a little sucky that your MIL didn't tell u that your other relatives would not come to the party on the 4th. I know you worked really hard and prepped a ton of food! At least u had a very clean house tho, right? I did go to the potluck but very briefly. T and F were napping so I snuck out and the park is like a 5min walk so i just zipped over w/the corn bread and dropped it off. They were having a parade when i got there with all the kids on bikes and wagons, and even dogs all dressed up in patriotic outfits. It was very cute.
    Yest I took Tate to a grooming place that is new to us and very close to my house; they're very nice folks who own it and they also board and have day camp so i'm going to take boys there to go thru a "personality" testing thing they do to assess how they'll do in day camp.
    omg, FRIED CHICKEN??!! that sounds so delicious right now! Sounds like a total feast there, Tracey! This a.m. i woke up at freakin' 2AM!!! WAHH!! i got up though at 3am and washed dishes, then updated my blog a bit, and of course the boys woke up too. I made corn bread for the potluck. I have a tummy ache right now so i'm prob not gonna stick around to eat at the park, i just want to drop off the bread. I hope to get a nap in this afternoon. I'm gonna make mac 'n cheese and the chick wings later on! :drool: Tummy better feel better too b/c i want to EAT!!! have fun today!!
    hey Tracey, how did your pedi turn out? i LUV getting pedis! it's been ages and goodness knows my feet are embarrassing to look at but i just don't have time right now. I need to make time. Maybe i'll do it on Mon 'cuz i'm taking the day off. Man, today was SO DANG BUSY. I'm in charge of the Coumadin Clinic at work a couple times a week and today was my day. It's for patients on blood thinners. We monitor them and give them dosing changes based on labs. I have 2 pharm interns who are 4th yr students helping me; they're both gr8 but it's their 1st wk so not as fast as i'd like. It was just hectic! right now i told T/F not to bother me as i'm laying down and need to decompress. I feel bad when i do that but i really need it. Tomorrow sounds great on your end--bbq, strawberry crm pie...YUM!! Today i picked up some organic chicken wings at Whole Foods so i may make that tomorrow. I dunno. Might be too hot to cook! Finn's leg is better :) I'm so relieved.

    Have FUN tomorrow!!:grill::usa:
    Thank you!! I hope you have a great 4th and a fantastic weekend too. HAVE FUN and have a drink for me! :fireworks:
    :hiya: Did you have a nice time at the pool w/your grandson today?
    I know a few of my neighbors but not very many. My neighborhood has its own FB page so we post things like suspicious activity or lost pets there and that's how i get to know some of them. There are many nice folks here and there are always people out walking their dogs. I will see if i end up going to that picnic. I'm planning on braising some short ribs and eating that for the 4th of July dinner. This a.m. I made a coconut-lime chicken breast dish. Actually, it's still marinating in the coconut/lime mixture so i have to bake it tonight. I will def. post these! Hopefully Finn's leg will be okay. I hated having to leave him but at least he's crated and will relax. I have no idea what he did between getting up this a.m. and the leg problem! He loves jumping up/down furniture...i know this is bad for our bulldogs, right?
