Well...3 separate vets + the shelter staff believe Champ to be 7 years old. He was very tiny when he was rescued. Skin and Bones. He's now about 55 pounds... of solid muscle!!
There are several ways in which dogs can fall into the hands of dog fighters (both fighting dogs and bait dogs). Stealing them is one way, yes. Also, check your local craigslist and see how many pets are being given away (or "rehomed" at very low cost) every day. This is why I urge people to not use craigslist (or at least SCREEN THOROUGHLY those who respond to your add. Champ has BB pellets imbedded in him, which the vets think are actually pretty old, based upon the amount of healing and scar tissue around them. So he's likely been abused and neglected for years and years. It's so so sad how this happens. And it's so much more common than people realize. Usually these dogs are killed and buried after they are used for fighting, so it really is a miracle Champ made his way out of there!

You posted "could you not spam me" under a new members post. How did they spam you? Were they sending PM's?

She sounded like she had a cold...she sounded very congested. I took her to my Vet who specializes in English Bulldogs...he told me to listen to her breathe. He said that you can hear it...it sounds like the sound is coming from her throat. He also diagnosed her stenotic nares. it is going on 4 days since her surgery and I can already tell a big difference.
