Hi, new to the group. These are my dogs Virgil the French bulldog who is 3.5 years old and his new little sister Pippa the English bulldog who's just over 13 weeks old. We've had Pippa a week now and both are getting along fine, Pippa's KC registered as a bulldog and was told English bulldog when buying her but she seems quite long legged and slim, is that normal for an English bulldog. Not that it really matters to us we love her all the same and just want a healthy happy dog, but wondering if it's normal for her to be like that at this age or is she going to turn out to be a really tall dog. Pics of her first walk are attached, vet said ok for pavement walks a week after the needle but wait another week before taking her to canals and places like that.

Welcome to EBN!

Your babies are adorable! I would say she is a mix due to her ears and coloring. Puppies do at times go through a lanky stage, but it is usually later around 6-8 months.

Oh boy, they are both really cute. Thanks for posting those pics. We love pics. FWIW, I think your Bulldog is a mix too. In Pippa's case, that's a really good thing. The longer legged Bulldogs rarely ever have hip issues. The ears that stand up rarely ever have chronic infection issues. Her slightly longer snout allows for better breathing. These are 3 of the most troublesome issues with the purebred Bulldog. Be happy!

Thanks for the welcomes and replys, as mentioned in my earlier post it doesn't matter to me what she looks like, she's perfect to us and I'm glad her unusualness will make her a healthier dog.
Your replies just got me thinking and I don't understand how she could be mixed breed as she is a fully KC registered bulldog, here in the UK that is supposed to mean she is a full pedigree or am I wrong? I have her paperwork and it goes back 5 generations of pedigree bulldog.

There are a few breeds/showers her and they can explain the reasoning on the registrations.

I can tell you that rare colors are being registered with AKC. It’s all a money maker for them. The more registrations they get, the more money. I can also tell you that the rare and non standard bulldog colors are basically a mixed breed.
