Have been suffering possible seizures and would like to change diet. Currently we are on Purina kibble, and are thinking of transitioning to Spot and Tango Unkibble flavor beef and barley. We have tons of allergies, so after searching for natural kibbles, we think this could be the best. Does anyone have any pros or cons regarding such

No input on that food but I can't remember if it was someone on here or on Facebook but I believe frankincense essential oil can help with seizures in dogs.

@2BullyMama @helsonwheels do either of you remember and are there any articles or threads on here about it?

I have never heard of this food.... have you looked into The Honest Kitchen ... they recently came out with a kibble, but I haven't looked at it yet.

Unkibble looks decent. Only issue Iā€™ve read by a few owners is when you reach the bottom of the bag, itā€™s more powdery. Thatā€™s probably because itā€™s freeze dry n shipping might not help. Maybe get it out of the bag n into a big container for kibbles. Also what you can do with the bottom powder is mix it with raw organs like liver. Another good meal.

Regarding ā€œsuffering possible seizuresā€, yes @Cbrugs did see a video I posted a few yrs ago from FB, a bulldog owner was showing how his bulldog stopped seizures immediately after using frankincense essential oil. I use it on regular basis n swear by it. But thatā€™s me. What the owner did while dog went in seizure, he put a drop of oil on his finger into each dogā€™s paws. Inside the pads not on the outside n rub at the top of the INNER ear. Took his dog like 10seconds n stopped.

I know my Jake has a different idiopathic head swing. Itā€™s a few yrs now. His swing is side to side. Like a smile. Showed my vet the video n heā€™s never seen that n was going to talk to some of his vet friends about it. Came back told me no one seen that either. I could have went to a specialist spend 6-10K but as per my vet, itā€™s been a few yrs n if heā€™s still here n very healthy as he is, to leave him alone. I do use frankincense on him. I put a couple drops on his head every other day, heā€™s on a raw diet, raw dry treats, veggies, some fruits. I try to put everything I can do to benefit his health. Will have to admit he stopped swinging his head a good 80% He swings more in the winter. Why, I just havenā€™t figured it out yet. Weird, but thatā€™s Jake, heā€™s naturally weird lol.

I just looked it up and it looks OK but I personally wouldnā€™t feed it as its got lots of synthetic vitamins.

But honestly, that food is definitely be better than his current Purina food.

The best kibble brand I recommend is Natures Logic and Carna 4, synthetic free Very premium stuff.

I feed raw diet and I give my dog with epilepsy CBD oil. Been a year since last seizure! And no head tremors since the switch to premium food.

Here are a couple articles:

Jake sounds like a mush. This is all great thank you for your advice. What brand oil do you use?

I've heard good things about Spot and Tango's Unkibble for dogs with allergies. It's worth a try, but remember to consult your vet before switching, especially with seizure concerns. šŸ¶šŸ–šŸŒ¾
