No, I do not feed them raw treats as in meat. I feed them raw blueberries and apples and veggies as treats. I also use freeze dried liver dog treats as well as other good quality commercially available treats.
I feed Stella and Cheweys raw patties as well as Primal raw patties. Each has 8 varieties (chicken, pheasant, beef, fish, venison, rabbit, duck, etc) and I feed them all. I buy them at Petfood Express because there, if you buy three bags of anything the fourth is free. Thats quite a savings (25%) but I ma not sure if you have those stores where you live.
With raw, you feed only 2% of your dogs weight a day. So if your dog is about 50 lbs, than 2% of that is 16 oz. Each patty is 8 oz, so your dog would get one patty, twice a day.
My dogs are 35 and 45 lbs. That means that one gets 5 oz twice a day and the other gets 7 oz twice a day, so I feed them a total of 3 patties (24 oz ) a day. Its not as complicated as it sounds, you may just need to get a cheap kitchen scale. I believe if you go raw, you will see a difference very quickly in their activity, weight control, and general health and appearance. Good luck!
Hi! Thanks for the note. Yes, I believe that raw dog food has helped my Lola with her allergies. Also, on the raw, they do not pass gas at all and their poo is very firm and much smaller, as there is not so much waste as with dry food. They also have fabulous breath (in that, I mean no odor at all of any kind in their mouth) and i never brush their teeth. As far as an immune system booster, you can buy human Ester C vitamin as well as a vitamin B "stress complex". Those specifically aid the immune system. Coconut oil does as well.
well, i'm surviving w/out a washing machine for the time being. I swear, most of the laundry I do are for the boys--all their towels and blankets and drool rags. I think that's about 90% of my laundry and the 10% are for me, haha!! Dinner w/the family was lots of fun and very interesting/good. Lots of fried foods--fried bananas, fried banana chips, fried cheese, and meat and rice/beans and a big tamale-like dish which was really good and then these fried donut-like things made from cheese/yucca/eggs and smothered in syrup! plus i had two delicious cupcakes that night w/ice cream
I know you're having a challenging time w/Wally's mange. I would be so stressed out too only b/c every little health issue w/the boys stresses me out! but he will be okay...just takes time. I'm considering putting mine on raw food too, Tracey. Are you seriously considering this for Wally? Hope u had a fun Sunday at the pool party!
I have spent part of my bday at the laundromat, haha...fun stuff!! washer decided to break down last night and i sorta "tried" to fix it myself but i can't figure out how to get the panel off, don't have the right tools. Anyways, the repair peeps aren't picking up phone. So...off to laundromat i went and it was okay; the machines these days are very spiffy and fast so 1.5 hours to do two big loads plus drying.
Tonight i'll see my family for dinner at a Nicaraguan restaurant we're going to try out.
No we haven't.......don't know where we are moving yet, so it is difficult. If it were to sell quickly, we would be screwed. Hard to rent when I run a business from home that requires a lot of room for a studio and inventory storage
Kids!!!!!! They wonder why I have grey hair?!? I hope that Lily is able to adjust well. She has been through so much in the last few months. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Please do the same for me
Me too!!! So over all of it Grandma is doing well PK has changed her major (once again) and now is going to be a dental hygienist - at least when she completes the first portion, she can become a dental assistant and the dental office she works at will normally assist with paying for the remaining tuition while she works. Kealey has moved into an apartment. Knowing that we will be selling the house and moving somewhere soon, she wanted to be settled before the school year begins. So we are truly empty nesters.
