  • Harlea is getting better. She only hits my wifes leg once maybe twice a day now. Still having a bit of trouble with her wanting to nap in my wifes lap but we are working on it. She gets a little better each day. Yesterday was a bad day as she had some breakthrough pain but we were able to manage it. Thank you for asking. :)
I had just gotten a referral for Winston to see a pet dermatologist before he died… that may be a good option for you. There is NO point in the blood testing if that doesn't cover food...
It might be a good idea to have allergy testing done… I heard that it's expensive, but in the long run that may be easier than doing the trial & error thing w/food, cleaners, etc...
Oh NO I'm not mad… I meant to send you a response, and our power was cutting out!!! LOL Good grief we bred Bella… that was a mighty mistake. We tried to find good people, but lets face it, once they walked out of our house who knows… the girl that owned the stud SOLD her pick of the litter, and she had told us that she wouldn't do that. I was really pissed… she told me that Chelsea went to a good family, but who knows… I'm sorry you have had so much drama since getting Brie. I've never bought a dog from a store, we got Roxie from a local breeder too.
Good grief, that's a lot of surgeries… did you get her from a breeder in GA? One of our puppies went to NY, and the family told us that bullies up there cost $3,000 and up… we were selling ours for $1,200 which YES was cheap but we didn't care about making money at all we just wanted them to go to loving homes.
Mother of GOD you need insurance!!! Is that all on her eye issues? How much did you pay for her if you don't mind me asking?!! We paid $1,500 for Bella years ago… Bullies are cheaper here than on the east/west coast.
I agree, I told the hubby I'm going to add up our vet expenses for this past year… I know between the puppies, Bella & Winston's drama we have hit easily at $8 - 10,000. I SO wish I had gotten the insurance earlier… Ugh. We don't have any snow yet, supposed to hit tonight & tomorrow… luckily Lily doesn't start school back till Tues.
I did a lot of research on it, and consulted peeps on here. I went w/Trupanion and we were paying $90 a month for a 9 year old boxer, and of course Winston. Of course now we can take Winston off, so I'm sure it will go down… Roxie was more expensive than Winston. Not sure about the pre-existing stuff because we put Winston on in Sept way before this eye crap started, Thank God!!! Boxer's are prevalent to tumors, so I'm sure that's why Rox is so expensive.
I knew she had the cryosurgery, I just wasn't sure they would have to do that again… Ugh! Do you have pet insurance? We have Trupanion and it will cover 90% of Winston's entropion surgery, and hopefully the emergency vet bill… that whole nightmare cost us in excess of $1,600.
My boxer has a bone spur in her neck, and we may have to give her shots for that at some point… we are waiting till the pain is unbearable. Sorry about your leg, that sounds really painful… I have terrible varicose veins, but they are not 3D (not painful either). Do you think that Brie's lashes grew back on the inside? Does she need entropion surgery?
Oh man, is that painful? When are you having that done? Good grief… you have had a year!!! So sorry about Loki… do you give her any glucosamine & chondroitin?!! I give Roxie NuJoint Plus and it has really made a difference… she jumps around like her old puppy self!
Make sure there is two people walking the dogs at first and If Brie jumps try walking a bit behind the other dog until she calms down. She will be an expert in no time.
The trainers do say walking together helps them feel like a pack and helps bonding.
