We have many options for used books but the professors here always want the latest editions so used is rarely an option. That's why they are looking to pass that law. I just talked to a friend of mine whose son just started at another university in state and the science book he needed was $685. i mean come on that is stupid. No educational book should ever cost that much.
No she doesn't. All of the classes she is taking that are dual credit are taught at her high school. I will have to look at their policies and see if we can go the route you mentioned as i wasn't aware of it. They are working on a law here to help defray some of the costs of the books as they have gotten out of control with the average cost of books for a college freshman running about $2500 to $3000 which is insane for a books that are outdated as soon as you get them. With the law it stipulates that institutions can no longer force students to have to buy physical copies and have more ebooks created at a more reasonable cost.
I know right. Here for high school kids you don't find out what supplies they need until school starts which i think is garbage. My daughter told us that one of the books she needs cost like $250. i was floored but then again she is taking AP and college level classes as a sophomore.
I know that it had to be a trying time for your family, but I am happy to hear that you have been able to work together and support two young parents. I love babies!!! I know that you are enjoying Marcus :) My husband and I joke, that had we met earlier in life, we would probably have 5 or 6 kids...LOL

Kealey seems to be enjoying her classes so far. She is not the most talkative person, so you have to ask direct questions. On the other hand, our 20 year old never stops talking. We have two opposites!
I know. They are idiots at this school. Yeah he is thinking about it depending on the out of state cost.
We are doing ok. Thank you for asking. The school never finished enrolling my son and basically told him he had to wait until the winter term which i think is a load of crap. So, he is in Cali right now with his girlfriend checking out a Humboldt State as they have a good fire program out there.
I work for re Village of Patchogue as Director of Public Safety..only 20 hrs a week though. It's nice because its only 5 mins from home..when I was a cop I has to travel 2 hrs to manhattan every day..I couldn't stand it!
San Diego is spectacular, Ashley lives down that way. IMHO San Francisco is the most perfect city on earth.
Monterey is like PARADISE compared to where I am!!! I love it up there, Carmel and the Aquarium and Cannery Row! I live in L.A. it's 95 now and ready to rain any second and the smog is especially bad today. yuck, makes me want to :yell: LOL!! :rundog::rundog:
I know right? I told my wife if it wasn't for our bad luck we would have no luck at all. That didn't go over to well. The way I am looking at it now is just another bump in the road of life that we have to get over. It suck but not much can be done about it.
Wow, that would be a shock. It is great that Logan has supportive parents.....so many teens in that position do not. How amazing to have a baby in the family, they are so sweet :) Life never turns out like we plan, but it is great that as a family you have been able to embrace this together and the children have been able to continue their education :)
