It is crazy waiting to the last minute to have the final bill calculated! There are many people that don't have the funds to be able to right a check for this, so I am assuming that you just have to meet with someone in financial aide and they assist you? Anyway, I think it is stupid to wait until the last minute. They don't post this until the 19th, yet they will drop you from classes if not paid by the 23rd.......she registered for all of her classes months ago......so silly!

Where do you live?

Not good. They have sat one his paperwork too long and it doesn't look like he will be able to take classes as they start next week. Of course you call them and they try to blame you for the problems when all of their deadlines were met.

My husband was in the Air Force before we met and after that had a job that included a lot of travel, all over the world. I can definitely relate to missing your husband and him missing some of the important family events.

It will be nice to do what we want, when we want for a change. We are already planning some of getaways! I have never been to Savannah, GA and can't wait to go and see all of the beautiful architecture (something that would have bored our girls to death) and my husband absolutely loves St. George Island and we have plans to go there as well. We have traveled so many places, but there are a few we wish to repeat and some places that I have yet to see. The main thing though is the weekends......just being able to do what we want on a whim!

Yes, this college process is all about hurry up and wait! They have all of these deadlines and expect you to jump through hoops, but it takes forever for them to get information to us. Scholarship info will not be posted to the bill until the 19th, so I either have to wait to pay or pay the entire bill and wait for a refund! Crazy!!!! I had to buy two books directly from the book store and those two cost more than all of the others combined. I had to buy them from the book store because one included a software package that can only be purchase through the school (isn't that convenient?) and one the professor just posted today, so I didn't have time to get it from Amazon. I hate waiting until the last minute on things and they are forcing us to do so!

At least your son will be living at home. We are going to be empty nesters now and I will miss our girls, but super excited for the time my husband and I will get to spend together and the things we will get to do. We have always dedicated all of our time to our girls, so it will be fun to do what we want to do for a change!

Our daughter graduated as the Salutatorian of her class and was accepted into the university's Honors College. Sh received a partial scholarship, but they live in special dorms that cost more as well, so we are still paying almost $9,000 a semester. She received some very large scholarships from some private universities as well, but she just fell in love with this school. Books are crazy expensive!!! For future reference, I order most off of Amazon, as you can get new text books for less than what they rent them for at the university book store, then you can sell them back after they are done.

I would like to say thank you to your husband (and you for that matter) for his service to our country. I feel bad for complaining about my husband not being there for one thing, when you go so long without seeing yours!

Funny that you just sent this message. I was logging into her university account to order the last textbook (the professor took forever to post the required book for this one course) and was about to look at our tuition, meal plan and room and board bill. I am scared We will move her in next Friday! I am excited for her, but will be sad as well. The bad thing is, we just found out that my husband has a business meeting that he cannot get out of this Friday.......it will be just she and I trying to move all of this stuff in, until he get there later in the evening to help finish up.

Is your son going near home?

Aw I would love to do it! I'm in Central America right now, but I get home this weekend. Let me check my schedule and we can work out a timeframe/price! I have a couple projects coming up, including the auction piece, but I'm sure I can do it!

Absolutely! I actually have been selling artwork on my website, hollydoesart.com. After the auction, I'm hoping to sell more bully drawings per request! It would just be so cool!
