  • Washington DC is one of the places we have not been too we have seen so much but so little America is so big, we live 5 hours from the Gold Coast you may of heard of Surfers Paradise at the Gold Coast we live in a town Called Bundaberg where they make Bundaberg Rum but we are not a dry county like some in Nashville we are at the beginning of the Great Barrier reef we are on the same latitude as Hawaii here in Bundaberg. We moved here from Sydney in 1988 actually the day Roy Orbison died our kids were 11 and 14 at the time thought it was a better place to bring our children up and we got out of transport and now back in it again :ashamed: bit mad if you ask me. yes the granddaughters are a joy my daughter has five and my sons is the 3 year old so you can imagine my daughters house 4 of them teenagers with hormones etc. There are many nice places to visit here in Australia.
nice to meet you!! My allergist jokes that I am bad with all the outside, and most of the inside :-/ but the shots are helping (just started a few months ago) I lived in Centreville for a couple years, now we live in Germantown Md. but spend a lot of time back in VA, still have friends there, and my hubby still works in Fairfax.
Grandkids are good to have aren't they, I have six granddaughters aged 3, 6,12,14,17 & 19 I guess I will get great grandkids before long and I am only 55 a bit scary. I love eating at the Fish Hopper there and Sly Mcflys where we stay they serve wine and fruit/cheese platter each afternoon and the wine is so good. Monterey is my husbands favourite place over there mine in New York we came to Nashville a few years back that was very nice too it was the first time we had ever seen rain when we were staying in Memphis and I think it was about 8th time we had come over there.
Yeah I can have my case reviewed but in all honesty while I want to have it reviewed again I don't want to do it and take away resources from someones case who is worse off than me and delay it.
It is lovely to hear from you and get to know you, I am so glad your husband arrived safely that must have been hard for 25 years has he been deployed a lot of that time? Monterey we just love it there my husband wants to go there every year we stay at Spindrift Inn at cannery Row just so relaxing the only time we ever relax on our holidays I love watching those seals out of the window. I am usually booked and paid for by March - April each year but not this year I do think these things happen for a reason My son in law may have to go into surgery for back problems and if that is the case they have to go to Brisbane for that as you would not have it done here Bundaberg (Dr Patel) put the fear into everyone here now we all travel to Brisbane for anything big Did you hear about that he is on trial here now from the USA. Are your children young. We are in Transport company and we contract with TNT.
Tell me about it. I blew out both knees and fractured my back in 3 places when they decided to medical discharge me and they only gave me 10% disability. I have friends that the only thing wrong with them are bumps on their faces and they were medically retired with 90% and then other friends that have lost limbs and are still fighting to get what they deserve. The system is definitely broken.
Sadly not enough time spent in a hot zone to qualify. I was only in Italy supporting Bosnia back in the 90's for 24 days and needed 30 days to get credit for it.
Nope not retired. Service connected disability discharge but not %. Just plain old BCBS ins. Heck the full cost of the vials each time is $677. I am just glad I don't have to pay that.
I agree. The oddest thing I am allergic to is Chlorophyll so nothing green for me. lol Yeah ins is a joke. Before I reach my deductible for the year I get hit $36 a week for my shots and $400 every 6 weeks for my vials. After deductible it is $2 and $75 which is still nuts if you ask me.
When I went in for testing I got roughly 160 small injections and I was allergic to 143 of them including dogs, cats and horses which I am around all 3 of them every day. I don't get migraines from them though. My ears get clogged up real bad and before I started getting shots if I sat down for long periods of time my ears would start to pulsate and throb when I would stand up. I can go in every 4 days for mine, but to keep consistent with my work schedule I go in every Friday and get 3 injections with the dosage increasing every week and new vials about every month and a half. It has helped me a lot but I still have a year to go before I can switch to maintenance mode and only go once a month. The cost sucks as my insurance sucks as it relates to allergy treatments.
Thank you, I'm not 100% sure yet if we can make it in October just waiting to see if our friend does come from New Zealand to run our business while we are away he is due to leave there this Saturday but until he arrives here and gets a place to live I am not paying for my airfares just in case you never know I like to be 100% before paying that all will be good here first but we should be fine to book in about two weeks if all goes to plan. I just love coming over there when I get off the plane in LA I feel like I am at my second home there are so many places we know like we know here and we have friends who we catch up with each year they live in ca but we take them somewhere last year we took then to Las Vegas this year I think we are taking them to Monterey and San Francisco and I will catch up with Henny again (cali baker). I hope yu don't worry to much about your husband in Afghanistan I guess that is easy for me to say that but my husband is not there. :)
Awesome. I thank your husband as well. Service was my pleasure and there are times I wish I was still in the service.
