My problem was the what if he develops a reaction to Trifexis, and his reply simply put, That reaction could be to a new medication just as well. Thats why i'm following this thread so closely. I'm not convinced either way, However i'm concerned about what i'm hearing, and want some better results from the FDA or a recall, So either recall this medication, or declare it safe.

Rocky was on Trifexis by his previous owner, With no problems, But she expressed reservations when she explained it to me. Rocky is allergic to fleas, and was on medication for it, When I talked to my Vet, I expressed serious reservations when he recommended Trifexis, as being the best possible solution for both Heart Worms and fleas in my area. Rocky's records indicated he was on a few different Heart Worm preventatives in his past, My Vet also did some research, and his conclusion was< Rocky's been on this medication with no ill result, therefore why change it. My explanation of Bull Dogs dying because of it was of interest to him, But went further into contacting several other Vet offices in my area, each of which regularly prescribed Trifexis without incident.

Thats some great information about the Trifexis Tim, and I love the way you presented it, with a lot of thought and diplomacy.... I've been following this thread pretty hard, faced with the same delima as you, I want the best for Rocky, and I'm the only person between Rocky and the medications,/ill effects Rocky gets, so he depends on me to do my research and not let him down.... Very cool. Age 58, 4th degree black belt in traditional Meibukan Goju karate, 1st degree black belt in Iaido. Never dedicated enough to do weightlifting competitively and have great respect for anyone who does. Mainly do it for strength and cross training. Many trips to Japan so am familiar with both spiritual paths. Great to get to know you.
