General Question Dry skin?

Hi my dog has 2 dry patches on her neck/ back I found them when brushing her the vet didn't seem to know what it is he just gave me some Malaseb shampoo.
she is verry active loves running off the lead walks for hours loves mud and streams :-)
i bath here every 1 or 2 weeks with baby shampoo and use this daily on her face I am just not happy with these scabby dry patches on her any advice is welcome

It almost looks to me like rub scabs from the collar. areas where the hair is rubbed off and the skin was at one time a bit raw. don't see it as a big deal. Perhaps a moisture cream or a dab of Vaseline will encourage the scab or dry skin to regain it's moisture. Keep an eye on it. your picture isn't real clear, but the area of it tells me that's what it is. if it were somewhere else I'd say the beginning of staph infection which will spread fast and you'll know it's staph if that happens

Thank you this does make sense as she pulls a lot on the lead.
