  • Hello! Thanks for checking in! I haven't been on the site too much lately...super busy! Tonka is doing alright. We are still waiting to see how the allergy shots will work. In the meantime, he is still suffering with a runny nose, itchy eyes (he scratches hair off around them/gets little scabs from his nails breaking skin) and eye boogers. :( I just pray the allergy shots will work for him eventually. I know it can take 4-12 months to know if they are going to work. How is Lily doing?
Good Morning.. Duke is good! no issues this week ha ha .. Hope you and Lily are well too!! enjoy your day ! :)
You are just the sweetest person! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! And Lily thanks you to!
Ok I am going out to by the meadow feast and I will start the switch with 1/4 new food with 3/4 old food. How does that should? Should I do that for a few days then go on to 1/2 new and 1/2 old if everything is ok?
Hello! Just checking in to see how things are going with Lily! I have an appointment this afternoon with a dermatologist for Tonka--finally decided it was time for a specialist. I will be sure to share anything I learn. Not sure if you got Lily's allergies under control. Tonka just started taking Hydroxyzine (prescription only) and that seems to work better than any others he has tried so far. I'll keep you posted! Hope all is well!
Great blog update! So happy Miss Sarah is doing better.
Was the yeast from the foods she was eating?
Hi Lisa! Thanks for asking! Tonka is doing alright. I was planning on calling the vet and seeing if we can look in to switching his allergy meds AGAIN. He doesn't seem to be doing well on the clemastine. Still pretty itchy. He has some scabbing in the little notch between his eyes and above his nose rope from scratching, and yesterday I noticed it was all pink and raw below the white fur under his eye and all around the eye going up the forehead. He has been scratching and getting close to the eye again. Plus, his face is very pink and his nose runny.I really don't want to have to go to using a steroid though so I want to try another allergy med. I am also thinking of taking him to see a pet dermatologist. I know that can get expensive but maybe a regular vet isn't doing the trick. So we might be looking into that if we can't find relief for him soon. How is Lily doing? Have you been able to pinpoint what might be causing the allergies (food vs. environment) or find her some relief?
Hi there! getting on late today.. you and Lily are probably sleeping LOL Hope your day was good:p
he is on a regimin for allergies.. he is allergic to wool and some molds. Ugh!! but he is doing really great! :) we just took him to the bullyfest in New Jersey a few weeks ago and finally got to meet some of the member on here.. it was hilarious.. over 85 english bulldogs waddling around! ha ha
well at least you got to the bottom of it !! I agree you never know with these bullies! I feel like our first two years with Duke we lived at the vet he will be 5 in August and this site is awesome for getting answers too! I felt so bad for you over the weekend I remember chasing Duke around when he would scratch! :whew:.. in any case glad you got to the bottom of it!!! she is so cute!!! :)
