I work in a school and for a private EI company. I am hoping to get out of the school system by January. I can't be an independent consultant and a full-time employee in the same tax year and they have to justify the need of another full-time employee, for my EI job. I really don't like working in the schools....too many people telling you what to do when they don't even know what it is you do and too much paperwork. I have always wanted to open my own practice, but I think I am going to wait to do that when my daughter goes to college (5 more years, but I am not rushing it!) I love EI. The families are so much easier to work with and the kids are great!!!!
