Yeah, we lived there for 5 years back in the early nineties, when my kids were in grade 6 and 8 , until high school, but back then there wasn't a lot of jobs, or growth yet. Plus my whole family lives here, and I missed them. It's much different now, it has really grown over the past years, many more jobs, and a lot of bigger stores like Costco have opened. The other problem is the isolation, if you want to go anywhere you have to take the ferry, which is expensive. I remember when we lived there , we went to the mainland a few times for watching a hockey game, or when the wrestlers came , or shopping. By the time you went over on the ferry, the 2 hours, watched a hockey game, you had to eat over there, so buy food or eat in a restaurant it became expensive. Also if the game ended late, then you had to stay in a motel overnight, because the last ferry was gone. It wasn't something you could do very often.
