Reba is a five-year-old rescue bulldog from Texas. It is cold here (Vermont), and she likes snoozing by the wood stove.

OK. I think the rescue place knew she had cherry eye and that's why she got the eye lube stuff. So I took Reba to the vets to have him surgically repair the eye problem ... and of course that day there was no cherry eye and he couldn't even tell which eye had the problem. !!! So I'm assuming...

Reba is five years old. I notice a lot of bulldogs seem to have droopy lids around their eyes, particularly on the bottom and many have red in their eyes.

When I got my girl from the rescue place, they said that when her eyes got red I should put Optixcare ("eye lube plus") in them. Turns out she has the occasional cherry eye in her right eye and she does seem to have general eye irritation. She is often rubbing her eyes on anything that works...

OK, thank you. I will look for these in the grocery store?

Is it OK to give our dogs uncooked bones with marrow? They won't splinter when chewed a lot and hurt them?

My precious angel inhales her food and treats. Is there any chewy type treat out there that would keep her busy for a few minutes without endangering her? I know to avoid rawhide , pigs' ears, bones, that kind of thing. She has a nylobone which she chews on occassionally., but not with great...

Oh good, I came to the forum looking for safe treats. My Reba gets carrots, which she loves. I will try the frozen green beans. I just wonder - all those goodies offered for dogs - I have been told to avoid most of them. Is there anything like jerky or ? that would be a long lasting chew...

Oh my gosh. My girl is scheduled for cherry eye surgery next month. I didn't even ask the estimated cost. Now I am shaking in my boots. I will report back.

... and so excited to find this forum. Reba is my six-year-old "rescue" bulldog. She was used for breeding in Texas and ended up in a Vermont rescue situation, where I found her. She is the SWEETEST thing and I fear she has lived most of her life in a kennel. She is gradually learning to use...
