Just a little back ground first. My Bentley in the middle of the night only will start licking and then will start to vomit. He sometime will have lots of plehem and sometimes nothing I will stick my hand in his mouth and there will be lots of plehem on my hand. After a trying to vomit he will start swaying back and forth and then fall over like he is passing out. Once he falls over he sits right up and is normal. He does this maybe one time a week if that. Well last night he did it 2 times once around 2am and then again at 6am. It really started to alarm me as he hasn't done it twice before like that.
Today I took him to the vet and they did xrays they said everything looks normal, but they want to send him to a specialist as they beleive he has a elongated soft palate. He eats fine doesn't get sick while eating nor afterwards just this issue at night and only 1 to 2 times at the most per week. In the mean time they have given me cough tablets and benadryl to give him at night to see if that helps.
So my questions: does this sound anything like a elongated soft palate? What type of cost is associated with this type of surgery?
He will only be 7 months old tomorrow as well.
Thanks!!
