My name is Blackjack and tomorrow is my birthday.. I will be 8 weeks old!
I was born the runt of the litter and I am half the size of my brothers and sisters. But don’t be fooled by my size. I am 100 percent Bulldog and I have a huge appetite!
If you are wondering why I have joined rescue, I would say that I am one of the lucky ones. People are holding, hugging and kissing all over me!
I never had a real name until I joined Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue, and now I have a big name: Blackjack. And someday, I will be big like my name.
At first, there seemed to be some confusion with the reason I had a little trouble walking… I had heard my leg was broken. I had heard a child fell on me. But all I knew was that I could walk and run, and sometimes I would just fall over. Finally, I was taken to the vet and I have a diagnosis: I was born with hip dysplasia. This seems to be a common problem, so I’m really just an ordinary guy after all.
I have a few foster mommas already lined up… imagine that! They’ll help me grow bigger and let my legs get stronger, as we search for my new furever family.
