  • Ah yes, I can see them now!! You must have to be friends to see photo albums.

I'll have to draw her for you soon! I have to finish a painting right now..and I'm doing one for the auction this month as well. But I will get yours done, lol!
Finally some nice weather for our babies!!! Duke was so happy to be out today! Have a good night and thanks again for that info. I passed it along to my cousin who also has a bully with skin issues. :)
Can you see it on the left hand side of this page----half way down-- it's marked Lucy Belle. Album. Did that help?
Yes, we get hydroxyzine from our vet. She takes 60mg twice a day. (She is 55 lbs). You can google it and read a little more about it. My vet says it is safe and really has no long term effects. He compared it to humans taking a allegra everyday. Believe me--I ask this stuff. I think my vet is afraid I am going to give him a test because I read up on all of this stuff--and I always have a list of questions for him.

Enjoy the rest of the week--this weather is just perfect. Lucy is in heaven! Sorry for two posts--I reached my word limit!!
I hear you. The allergy testing/shot debacle was a nightmare! Once they are stable you are thankful they are happy and healthy! It bothers me a little that she is still on DVP--I know there are better foods out there. I do give her blueberries and apples instead of treats. When I get brave I will add on another fruit! I think in the fall (when seasonal allergies die down) I may try another brand with a higher rating. She is healthy and happy--so I have to be grateful for that. She is allergic to so many things--it is hard to find a food that has 100% of the ingredients that are Lucy friendly!
that is great to hear.. Where do you get the hydroxyzine from ? does the vet give it to you? I will have to ask about it.. Duke's new food is amazing. he looks great, his coat is nice and shiny and he has so much energy .. BUT we still have him every other day on 5 mg of prednisone.. as soon as we cut back or try to go one extra day he rubs his face up and down the sofa :(

I am not sure what else we can do?? I would love to find something new but he went through so much with testing and allergy shots etc its nice to see him just be a happy dog each day!
You are welcome! That can be my way of saying thank you for all of the help you have given me. How is Duke feeling? Is the new food allowing you to cut back/out steroids?

Thank God Lucy has been great. It is like she is a different dog. She doesn't have one bump--not one itch--face is as white as snow. She takes hydroxyzine (which is an anti histamine) and that is it. We are thankful and amazed. I hope she continues to do well throughout the summer. I would love to change her food--but the last time I tried she got hives and it wasn't good. For now--I am going to enjoy her good health and I am not going to rock the boat!

    Yes today is glorious!!

    Talk to you soon!
Thank you so much for my market gift!! I am still learning how to use the site.. It took me ten minutes to find it! ha ha
Hope you and Lucy are well. It is gorgeous weather today.. ( I am sure Mr. Duke will be happy it is not too hot! )

Have a nice day! Karen :)
Hi there! so far so good with the allergies.. new food is going good so far.. his coat is like silk!! But he is still on a 1/4 of dose of prednisone every other day.. as soon as I take it back anymore he goes nuts with the itchies.. BUT fingers crossed that after a few weeks on the new food I can take him off completely. it is VERY humid here today.. no walk after work :(
The weather is challenging this time of year. We have been switching back and forth from AC to heat. Lucy had a restless night too. She may have been a bit warm because she usually loves to cuddle between my legs--but last night she preferred to lay in the middle of the bed by herself. So far her allergies have been pretty good. Last year at this time she was flared up with red welts and itching and biting herself raw. I hope all of the steps we take around here to keep her comfortable will pay off. Fingers crossed (and paws).

How is Duke doing on the new food? Poops back on track? How is the food affecting or not affecting his face folds? Any improvements? I know it may be too early to tell--just wondering.

Thanks for your message. Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine!!
Hello! How is Lucy making out with the warmer weather?? duke kept me up all night last night. He sleeps in bed with me and stood in the middle of us for almost 45 minutes ha ha! My husband took a day off today and put the a/c in.. he really does OWN us! ha ha
