Thanks for all the valuable information you offer EBN. Thanks for the gift too!:2thumbs:
I am happy too, sounds like me with Yuna and Tidus. I would tell them to stay out of the vet if possible just because parvo can be carried on the soles of their shoes. No one is allowed to wear shoes in my house because of it LOL (OCD?)
They are keeping them both which makes me happy. Parvo is rampant up here right now from feed/pet store
I just saw them again on Satureday. The male is a bruiser (moose is his name) and the female is still about half his szie. They take pups in to vet every 3 days or so they said for wellness check. Eyes are open now but female (Baby) had a pustule under eyelid and had to be forced open by vet. Theowners are starting to look haggard, lol
My next question is regarding supplements, I've noticed that some people give their dogs salmon oil or pills, and cranberry for UTI's. how much do you give the pups, and do you buy them from a vet, or can you use the same as a human, and buy them at a drugstore or health food store? Do they get these everyday, weekly? I also give the pups plain natural yogurt 2 or 3 times a week, or cottage cheese, they get cut up apples, bananas, cheese, strawberries for treats , and I give them Wellness soft chew duck and turkey treats when training them, and when we are out. I heard oatmeal is good for them too, is this true? Any information or input is appreciated. Just trying to give them the best diet, while sticking to just natural snacks, and wanting to give them the supplements they need without overdoing it.
Hi me again, I have a few questions for you, you've probably read how I've been switching foods. We are on Fromms for 5 days now, and seem to be doing well for both. Blossom is the one having problems with her skin, pink irritated ears, chin, and teary pink eyes. I'll stay with the Fromms and see if she clears up, but if she doesn't then I will switch her back to Go, she did well on that, but Dozer didn't tolerate it very well. If I have to then I will put them on separate foods, Go for her, Fromms for him. My question to you is regarding home cooked food, I saw your basic recipe and was wondering which vegetables you use in your recipe and how much. Do you use frozen vegetables, or fresh and cook them, and what kinds? I saw that your food lasts for 3 days, is that for 1 dog or 2? Also could I feed the pups, home cooked 2 or 3 days a week, and kibble the rest? And would you alternate the days ? Would this upset their tummies?
Yeah biking girl has left the building, and Vikinggirl is officially back. Thank you so much for all your help
I am so sorry Lisa!! I can't imagine how hard it is for you every time you have to let a puppy go. Just that short time I contemplated keeping Rico (his name is back to moose) and then allowing them to keep him, I felt this emptiness. However, the smart part of me knows that is better for him to stay there with his sister and mom as well as the fact she stays at home to dote on them. I havent seen them since Tuesday but they were doing fabulous then. Maggie is a great mom. We will see them tonight though so I will give you the update, 5 days old today!!
