    Cushing's Disease

Hi folks! It's been several years since I last posted, but I think we're getting close to the rainbow with our girl, Ellie. We've been fighting some recent health issues that include highly increased water intake, frequent urination, accidents in the house, decreased appetite resulting in...

    Hey Ya'll...........

I use nylabones and deer antlers also. I have to watch Ellie as she'll devour a deer antler and work a nylabone to the point of bloody gums. Then it's like herding cats to get them away from her. I'm from North Georgia also!

Hi. My apologies for the months without a reply, but I'm just now logging in for the first time in quite a while. The omega that we've been giving Ellie is Vetri-Science 3, 6, 9 gel caps. She's also started an allergy medication and her left side has made a lot of strides. The right side...

    General Question Possible Cushing's Disease?

Well Ellie had her visit for her 2nd opinion this morning and it went well. The vet had reviewed what had already been done with blood work and after a physical exam, thinks that the $500+ in additional blood work for Cushing and allergies isn't needed. She felt that Ellie's skin looked fine...

    General Question Possible Cushing's Disease?

Well after talking things over with the wife, we've decided not to go through with all of the blood work tomorrow, even though I'd still like to do the allergy testing just for my own knowledge. With all of her previous blood work coming back normal, I'd anticipate the same this time and don't...

    General Question Possible Cushing's Disease?

Before I go out and look for the Nature's Bounty 3mg tablets, I wanted to make sure that I was looking for the right item. Also, I'm assuming regular strength as opposed to the triple strength shown in the pic below? And unflavored as opposed to cherry flavored?

    General Question Possible Cushing's Disease?

Thanks again guys. We were at good ol' Wally World and I got the last bottle of Melatonin that they had. Unfortunately it was only 1mg tablets. But we only spent a couple of dollars on it, so I would rather have it should I not be able to find the 3mg than not have any at all. I might wait...

    General Question Possible Cushing's Disease?

Thanks everyone. With Melatonin, would this be the over the counter sleep aid that you can get at wal-mart or the like? And if so, is it available in a liquid format? Manydogs

    General Question Possible Cushing's Disease?

Hi everyone! I haven't been around in a while as this whole having a bulldog, toddler, and wife thing has been keeping me quite busy! Our EBD, Ellie Mae McPigglesworth, has started losing hair on her sides. The hair loss is in the same place on both sides, almost symmetrical, and then a...

Well the B/W version brought home a 1st place ribbon in the local fair. :D

Ellie will put up with just about anything for a treat.....

Long time, no post! How the heck is everyone?!?! Anyway, our little man has been keeping me plenty busy and this place has been on the back burner, but I snapped a couple shots of Ellie Mae McPigglesworth this afternoon. Ok.....so they're the same shot, one in color and one in B/W and I can't...

Daily poll: Do you feel that your bulldog is overweight?

Ellie's a dainty 37ish lbs. She's got the barrel chest, but we've worked hard to maintain a nice tuck at her back end. I'd say that she could top out around 40lbs and be ok, but right now she's fine.

Daily poll: Is your bulldog good with children?

Ellie has been nothing but affectionate with our newest addition. In fact, she's sometimes overly affectionate and we have separate her from our wee little man.

Oh Ellie Mae......how you drive me up the walls sometimes...

Just an update, but I said the hell with it last night after she woke up the kiddo with her barking. I was up until about 1:00 a.m. squirting her every few minutes until she finally quieted down. Ellie started back up about 3:00 and received quite a few squirts off and on until it was time to...
