I can appreciate you being busy and please don't be offended by my wanting to ride your coattails and ask if you could post the recipe that was given you. I liked Farmer's dog, they were normally right on time in my little rural area so had no complaints there however I'm having to suspend work...
I've had Farmer's dog for over a year and I was quite pleased with the product, the delivery, the way it was packaged. I would feed Otis half a package morning half a package afternoon I'd leave a little bit left over for his night night which was maybe two bites of food late in the day. His...
Hi, yours is the most helpful entry I've seen about ACL surgery. My oldest just tore his ACL and I need to schedule him for surgery. I have a friend who's Dalmatian went through the same thing as she kept her dog crated or on a leash in the house for 8 to 12 weeks. I know no stairs are allowed...
Update! Had the vet thoroughly examine my boy and she found nothing unusual under the chin. Just "Bulldog jowls" think Churchill....relief! Also got test for ehrliciosis which was neg but of course does not preclude any of the other 20+ tick borne diseases. Since we found this baby 3 years ago...
Otis has been lethargic the past few days which I have been attributing to allergies. However I noticed swelling under his jaw. If he were human I would say it looked a little like a goiter only higher up, his collar would fit right under it. . It goes the width of the neck, is soft and flexible...
Thank you! Otis had been chugging along with(knock on wood) few problems lately so don't want to upset the apple cart. I would love to try natural oils but at this point just want be rid of the fleas the best way that is not harmful to him.
Last year I used a Seresto collar with good success. This year I used K-9 Advantix April and May and had no affect on fleas at all. I'm fighting a battle here and
Just an update on Otis. I had the entropion surgery on Monday. Thus far he seems to be doing well, is comfortable (I keep reminding myself of oscarmayer's statement to leave the cone on, not to relent.)
Thanks for all the questions you have all answered.
Happy Holiday Season and thanks, again
Thank you so much as I am stressing out here! We will go in tomorrow and talk to the vet. I believe I am inadvertently caught between a New way, Old way between vet's. I know both of their intentions are good and both with my dog's interest at heart. Just two different methodologies. Just too...
You asked about the other issue. The vet called it a non healing ulceration...but since he had recently started in with the injury symptoms (within a few days of this diagnosis, within hours if first being seen) I don't k ow what the criteria is for "non healing" as the injury was less than 3...
I think you're right about the acute injury exacerbating the entropion. If you saw pictures of Otis prior to this most recent injury you would see a very clear-eyed dog. I hate to have him in pain any longer than necessary but am not feeling comfortable about this planned surgery tomorrow...
I deleted most of what was a long post that perhaps strayed off topic into "why am I getting so many different opinions" and why is it so hard to convince my vet(s) that while entropion is a developing issue here, the immediate problem is that my pup injured his eye and my immediate concern is...
Thanks for the reply. I think the anesthesia isore frightening than the surgery. I think you are spot on about enlisting an opinion from an eye specialist. Now to find one in Arkansas...
