Bobby will be 3 in July. The mistake I made was that I stopped giving him the Phenobarb a few days after he appeared to be okay. That was about February 22 or 23rd. Then out of nowhere on Monday 21st at around 9:00 AM he fell off our couch while in a deep sleep and went into a full blown seizure. He had 5 seizures that morning and we drove him to our vet in Massena who again monitored him all day then brought him home with him that night. He had one more seizure while he was at our vet's house. We were able to get him on Tuesday March 22nd. Our vet had him on 3 phenobarb 34.5 mg twice daily but we found he acted like a zombie and was disoriented so we have reduced the dosage to two pills twice a day. We\re bringing him for blood tests Tuesday April 5th so we can find out whether his problem is systemic; i.e. Thyroid or Glucose, Electrolytes and Blood Gasses etc. If everything checks out okay we may have to ask for a referral to a Neurologist and have him undergo an MRI or CT Scan.
