    Demodex Treatments and other...

All dogs have Demodex mites on their skin and most dogs never get overrun by the mites. When a dog's immune system is compromised the mites will take over and multiply if the immune system deficiency is not addressed quickly. Unknowing to us, our Bullie was imported from a Russian puppy mill...

    Bubba with hives this morning

Poor Bubba. We keep Benedryl and Zyrtec in the medicine cabinet. Benedryl works on Punkie but it doesn't on Maggie so she gets a Zyrtec and within an hour the hives are gone. I had the hives not too long ago and Zyrtec worked when Benedryl wouldn't. Hope Bubba is better soon :bully:.

    I give up!!

My Bullie came from a puppy mill in Russia. She came to me with everything and more that you have described in your post. Nutrition is the key to having a "healthy" Bulldog. We have 4 furkids and they all benefit from the regimine I started to get my Bulldog's immune system up to par. They...

    Buster INHALES his food!

We free feed and have since our furkids were pups. With free feeding there is never any gulping. With smoosh faces you can never be too careful when it comes to a choking hazard like gulping food. Bloat is also a very serious and sometimes deadly thing to be considered when discussing gulping...

    arthritis

Our boy, Kramer has arthritis in his back hip from an injury when he was a pup. I started giving him Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM about a month ago and after just 10 days we could see a remarkable improvement. After 14 days he wasn't limping at all. I ran out of the med and couldn't get to the...

    Dewclaws?

I thought the same thing about my girl, Punkie Dewclaws? Aren't they supposed to be removed? Our vet said they don't remove dewclaws on Bulldogs. My Boxer had hers removed so I asked the vet what the determining factors are for removal. He explained that Bulldogs are not sporting dogs and...

    Talking about stuffies....

OMG!! Punkie Brewster does the EXACT same thing. She has done it since she was about 4 months old; she's 3 years old now. We have two "boobie babies" that none of the other dogs are allowed to touch. Punkie has to have one of her nasty "boobie babies" every single night or she can't sleep...

Tyson is going to end up hating me

Poor Tyson! Peanut Butter is my secret weapon for pill giving. I get a tablespoon full of PB and stick the pills down into the middle of the PB and make it into a little ball with the meds tucked right in the middle...then I get another spoon full of PB...after I give the loaded PB ball, I...

Help me get rid of fleas please

If you have fleas in your home Zodiac Foggers are AWESOME! We fog our home a couple of times a year. You have to fog once to kill the fleas, wait 2 weeks and fog again to kill any hatching eggs. I swear by Zodiac! We also spread Triazicide on our yard (paying special attention to the...

    First time growling and snapping

I suggest that since you know Bubba is being aggressive when he has a treat, you should supervise them the next few times you give them a treat. We use a squirt bottle filled with water with the nozzle set for distance and if one of our furkids get out of line, we say "NO insert dog's name"...

Tight corkscrew tail in a DEEP pocket...HELP!

Thanks for all the tail pocket feedback. Punkie and I are grateful for all the suggestions. I already keep baby wipes by my chair and when she comes in from pottying, I clean and dry all her private parts and wrinkles to avoid infection. Punkie won't be happy about this, but I'm going to...

Tight corkscrew tail in a DEEP pocket...HELP!

My:bully:, Punkie Brewster has a very tight corkscrew tail in a very DEEP pocket. It doesn't bother her all the time but I can tell when it does. It's like she wants to scratch it but of course Bullies aren't built in a way that makes that possible. I have talked to her vet about amputation but...

My Punkie Brewster has a very deep tail pocket with a tight corkscrew tail. I have talked to her vet about amputation but he doesn't think her tail is that bad. Last time she was at the vet for an eye issue, I had him check her tail. He informed me that they don't do tail amputations any longer...
