They definitely get startled, rattled, and agitated by fireworks, this is for sure. I'm actually not sure if it's "fear" the more I think of it though; it's not like they hide under the bed b/c they'll actually go out to the door to investigate where the heck that noise is coming from!
Actually yes and No, Dozer is terrified of firecrackers, lightning, traffic going by, and any loud noises. Blossom isn't afraid of firecrackers, or noises, other than the vacuum.
Here in Utah the neighbors have been setting them off for a couple weeks already. Bocephus believes that the house is under attack!!!! He freaks out and runs around checking the perimeter of the room, I usually will take him up to my walk in closet and we watch tv on the iPad until he gets sleepy
I voted yes cos they do react to it but they don't really seem fearful... They bark and wants to sit with me but that's it. I turn the TV on so there is other noise that kills the noise from the fireworks, it helps
The dog my parents had when I grew up was extremely scared of fireworks and thunder, we used to take her bed and put it in the shower cabin in the bathroom that was located in the middle of the house, she stayed calm there as the noise was milder and she felt safer in a smaller area.
