Meet Birdie, a three year old female purchased from craigslist after we learned that she was living in a garage and being a target for the older male bulldog in the home. A kind caring volunteer purchased Birdie on our behalf and transported her to this morning for medical evaluation.

It is most likely that Birdie has never had vet care and most certainly hasn’t been on heartworm preventative. She will be getting the “once over” and then when medically stable, spayed. Birdie seems to be a sweet girl who only want love and attention. She is a little on the thin side and will eat as much food as you put in front of her very quickly. She’s an active girl who loves to jump and run. After testing has been done by Dr. Harris, we will have more information on her condition. When released, she already has a wonderful foster home waiting for her.

Update 11/12/12: Birdie was spayed yesterday and she is heartworm negative!
