Thoughts on me rescuing or trying to help a lost dog

Poor little guy

I have driven through 4 times today and haven't seen him again. I talked to one of my neighbors who has a fenced yard and a unfinished basement. She is keeping an eye out for him also and says he can stay at her house but hopes her daughter which lives nearby will take him in since she is dog shopping. They are bulldog people also so I talk to them frequently even though they don't have a bulldog right now

I did not see him this morning either so I guess he has found a home for now.
