@ame16, when we got a board for Wilson he liked it and all but didn't care if it moved. He'd get on it and have us move it for him. He was more content on eating it (which was ok cause they all do that). First we bought a cheap board at Target. That really didn't move freely so we went and bought a 'real' board at a skateboard shop. Think it was around $100. Wilson just really never took a big interest in it.

Now when Emma came along, oh my did she love it. She has a totally different personality and body style than Wilson. She's extremely fast on her feet and very agile. She took to the board like there was no tomorrow and the rest is history. My hubby went out and bought another board, a long board, to use with our pitty Jack (Jack will pull Mike to the park on it, lol). Well that board literally will move on it's on the wheels are that good, lol. We have to take it away from her actually. I think they'll either take to it or they won't.

Just keep trying and make it a very fun thing to do. You could also put her on the board and walk backwards in front of it while pulling the board. We drilled a small hole in the first cheap board and would pull Wilson.

Here's Emma last summer. I can only imagine if we worked with her she'd be really good. She was about 6-8/9 months.

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep you all updated on her progress! Hopefully this week we can get her off the ugly rug (the good rug was stored away until she's a bit more consistent with her housebreaking ) and out into the streets. I don't want to rush things, though.

Once you get her off that rug and onto pavement you'll see what Elly really can do. She's just too stinkin' cute.

Emma is awesome on the skateboard. I never tried to introduce Amber to a skateboard. She can tear up enough stuff without a skateboard so I think we will just have to watch others videos on this one.

Things are going well. I taught Elly to get on the skateboard on command tonight. I still can't get over how smart she is! It literally took her about 2 minutes to get the idea!

Before I got her, I was expecting training to be a nightmare. Everything I read indicated that bulldogs are "dumb" and stubborn. While she's certainly stubborn, she's definitely not dumb. In fact, she has actually been easier to train than my sister's GSD. So either Elly is really smart for a bully or Nala is really dumb for a GSD. Either way, I'm not complaining.

That's good! Having your dog actually be interested in the skateboard is the key first step. Now just channel that energy.
