Earlier today my wife and her friend picked up my daughter from school. Normally not a big deal. Well today less than 50 yards away from where she was picked up and less that 10 minutes after they left about 100 kids got in to a mass fight. Keeping in the tradition of the punk kids today one of then pulled out a gun and started shooting into the crowd. At least one kids was hit and life flighted in critical condition. I blame this on the wussification of society in general and the parents of these freaking kids. I am praying for the kids that got hit and I am glad my daughter is safe.

I agree... Wussy fixation of our kids is causing a lot of this. Also the lack of parenting.

We didn't even know about it until a few hours after it happend when my son saw it on the news and then checked his dispatch radio.

OMG Todd... Just reading this, I swear WTH is wrong w/these kids today!!! Thank God your daughter is ok, but I feel so bad for those parents of the injured child.

The place where this happened is notorious for after school fights at least once a week. You would have thought by now the cops would have done something about it same with the school as you know that kid had the gun in school beforehand.

Wow Todd...glad your daughter is ok but you are 100% right??If That school is known for after school violence there should be measures put in place by the police to address it. Sad world we live in now.

OMG!!! [MENTION=8859]Marine91[/MENTION] We spent yesterday afternoon/evening with friends and had no idea this happened, need to turn on the local news. Glad your daughter is okay. I don't understand what goes on at schools anymore. All the bullying and over the top violence. Sometimes I think maybe these kids really don't understand the consequences of their actions...I don't freakin know...

OMG Todd how scary, I'm so sorry you and your family and your daughter had to go through this. It's pretty sad that today our kids aren't safe at school anymore. My sister was telling us yesterday that a student in grade 7 at her sons school brought a gun and loose bullets to their school last week. We have 6 children under the age of 6, with 4 of them being in Kindergarten. I'm so glad your daughter is safe, and agree with you.
