Hello Everyone,
Over the pass few mouth, my wife and I have been thinking about getting a house dog, so we decided to go with the English Bulldog as our new family member. After weeks of searching, we finally found a reputable breeder close to home. (Didn't want to put the little guy through a long car trip) The little guy we picked will be 8 weeks on 11/15/2021 and the breeder said we can pick him up on 11/19/2021. We are so excited, it's like waiting on Christmas morning. Currently we are purchasing items we think he will needs by researching on google and there is a lot of mixed opinions, then I ran across this forum and the guys on here seem to know their stuff and what better place to learn about raise a English bulldog, than a English bulldog forum. So any advise as to what I need to get before I pick this little guy up is greatly appreciated. As for food, the breeder has been feeding Nutri-Source and will be giving me a bag to take home with him, that brand is not available in my area, but Acana and Fromm is. (Which look to be highly recommended on this forum)

Welcome and congrats! A good food is a great place to start and both Acana and Fromm are both good brands. Make sure you have lots of chew toys because those shark teeth bites hurt!
Thanks, any suggestions on good puppy chew toys?

Welcome to EBN! Congratulations…. Fromm and Acana are both great foods.. avoid chicken and white potatoes as they tend to be issues. Another great chew is raw marrow bones… once empty you can rinse stuff with peanut butter and freeze for a later treat

Thank guys for the toy recommendation. I picked up some from petco today and still looking for raw marrow bones (No local butcher in my town) and antlers. Its getting closer to his pick date and I'll try to have some pictures posted next weekend.

You can ask in your grocery store meat department…. They might have them labeled as soup bones

That's a cute little on you have there. You'll enjoy watching him grow up...to(my guess)55 lbs!
Stainless water and food bowls only. Keep him away from(or limit his exposure to) other dogs, people that own dogs, & dog parks(I'm not a fan of dog parks) until he's had all his shots. We take our pups to the local brewery as they allow dogs and everyone there loves Bulldogs. No stairs until at least 6 months old. Treat with his regular kibble. Foods to avoid are wheat corn soy beef and chicken.
