Soooo, looks like we're getting a puppy. We've reached a place with our special needs daughter that we can probably move ahead with getting a bulldog.

I'm looking for input on what to expect with an 8-10 week old bulldog puppy (probably female, if that matters).

Please give me your experience and any advice.

Thanks so much!

Best decision you'll ever make. Best advice I can give you is first thing you'll probably want to get her off the food the breeder has her on. I can't stress this enough look on her for quality food for the dog, stay away from Purina science diet or anything from a grocery store. This has a lot to do with the dogs health or any allergy problems he or she may have. Look on here for any advice you'll ever need. Best of luck

Congrats! Like mentioned, get her on a high quality diet. If you can do raw, go for it cause you’ll avoid s many health issues. Especially when it’s puppies cause they just got off mom’s milk and still have a very strong gut flora! My dogs as pups had all the proteins and not one had ever had allergies. Zero. Best time to start a healthy future dog is when they’re pups.

What would be considered 'raw?'

My first dog bring me so much happiness – truly the best decision! Just be patient as they get used to your house. A little noise or a few messes are normal at first, but they'll absolutely get better and better!

Agree with others, raw or gently cooked are the best you can feed. Raw, is as it says, not cooked protein, organs and ground bones … I use a local company and ship to home, just scoop and serve

Phoebe!

Congrats! You will wonder how you ever ever functioned without your fur baby asking to go out at all the wrong moments (think closing moments of close sporting events), slobber on your clothes as you get ready to go out, and soulful eyes looking to you when guests sit in her spot on the couch. Your babies (fur and human) will likely bond very tightly, bull dogs are very much people dogs (mine is a people according to her own self).

any updates?
Yeah. She's almost sleeping through the night. Getting some naps, playing lot. She loves her people and meeting new people.
All good! We're plugging along.

She is gorgeous! What food did you decide on? Please tell me it's not Royal Canin!

Haven't yet. Still giving her the Iams puppy chow for now.
Remind me why Royal Canin is no good?

Royal canin is full of corn meal and fillers plus the chicken can also cause allergy problems. Unfortunately Iams isn't much better, personally I'd look for healthier options. Can save you down the road in vet bills. Beautiful pup
