lepto vaccine

Hi all
My vet says my 2 year old bulldog is due for his lepto booster but i have since moved to northern wisconsin and am hesitant to give it to Bear due to all the side effects etc.. any advice would be appreciated

I have never given any vaccines to any of my dogs. Especially when it comes to EB with everything they’re prone to. But that’s me.

My bulldog gets the lepto vaccine every year and has never had a problem.

My dogs get the rabies and parvo, but that's it. They always want to give Lepto and Bordatella and I refuse. I would like to just do a titre test, but laws come into play here.

Lepto is not required .. I’d just say No thank you

I was discussing vaccines recently with members of our kennel club that have various breeds. Most do not vax for lepto, justifying that they don't walk their dogs in wooded areas or let them swim in streams and lakes. The bacteria is spread through rodents like skunks, opossums, etc. and can be found in waterways. Here's what the AKC says: https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/health/leptospirosis-in-dogs/
