my 5 1/2 English bulldog has nighttime incontinence. Proin did not work. he has just had an ultra sound and a blood/urine test that were negative.
the vet wants me to see an internal med vet. are there any other solutions?

Hello and welcome……..

I wouldn’t give any meds. In a nutshell, basically your dog needs to relax. Is there anything that changed in his life? Go the natural way. Same as humans. Burning energy and like that your body is more relaxed. English Bulldogs love to sleep so why we need to keep some going during the day in activities if possible. Even giving them a frozen raw marrow bone. Keeps them busy throughout the day. And marrow is good for the brain cause a brain is most fat matters. And a diffuser with a quality lavender essential oil on where he sleeps.

Here’s a good website with great info on the holistic approach. Hemp/CBD would definitely be a way to go. It also relaxes the brain. Keep us posted šŸ‘

Nothing has really changed in the household. you could leave him alone for hours, day or night and he would not have any accidents. now it's every night. he sleeps like a rock, and has slept throught the night and into the mid morning without any accidents. i have put a night light where he sleeps so he is not in the dark.

What is Hank's weight, has he put more on recently?

Well his ultra sound, blood/urine test came out negative which is good news. I would do CBD without the THC. It will help him a lot.

Just a thought, if you don’t already, take him out, even if waking him to do so, before you go to bed. We had to do this with our old man , hubby is a night owl so he would take Cheli out around 11-12 PM to prevent night time accidents

If Hank is overweight, that can cause pressure on the bladder. Also if he is not an active dog through the weight, that can be a problem with weak muscles around the bladder. Combine those two, that could cause incontinence. Also if you feed Hank Kibble late evening, that will also cause some pressure on the bladder, through expansion of the kibble. But this post is assuming Hank is overweight?
