Sophie has spent the last week with my mother, while Tucker has been neutered. I just picked her up yesterday and noticed that she seems to be missing some hair down the middle of her back. I have a couple of pictures. Any idea what it could be? I've looked at it closely, and there is no real irritation or bumps that I can see.

This happened to Buster and I was told on here to add yogurt to his breakfast and it went away. Does it look scaly at all?

I'd say take her to the vet to make sure what is it. It could be nothing or it could be demodex mange.

dolphin, she does get yogurt on her food nightly. However, I am not sure if my mother was giving her yogurt. I will check to see if she was. If not, that might be the problem? Thanks for you input.

They are not just spots. There are patches of what look like dry skin with missing hair. It only runs from her tail straight up her backbone, about half way to her head.mit doesn't seem to bother her.

Is she under 1 yr? If yes, it could be manage/mites

She is five months old. Should I take her to the vet for a skin scraping or wait and see if it progresses? Is it contagious?

Go get a scrape... The sooner it is determined and treated the faster it goes away
