We also use Bravecto on our pups... no issues!!!

No major issues here while Castor used it, apart from a bad tummy. Now Castor is on Nexguard summer time as it is supposedly not as strong.

Ah, Castor is on nexguard summertime against ticks (better for his sensitive tummy than bravecto)! Great to hear that medicine too seems to work against mites.

I use this in the summer especially when I go walking or hiking in the Rockies as itā€™s know for ticks. Works great. Even mosquitoes donā€™t even dare come near. :)

FOR TICKS

14 oz of Witch Hazel
12 drops of Lavender
15 drops of Citronella
15 drops of Lemongrass

Put all in a spray bottle and shake.

Someone I talk to posted on my FB his dog had the sulfur dip n died. :(. Only thing I see is his dog must of panic n inhaled. Idk..So sad. I personally wouldnā€™t go that route for a flat nose dog.. Too scary.

I was a nervous wreck about the dips, but I trust my vet completely... Walter had just had an episode of puppy strangles, so she obviously felt the need to do it.

I always give Bravetco with their dinner, but sometimes they do spit up... I honestly don't think ANY of it is good for animals.

Thank you so much for all of your comments again ā˜ŗļø
Frank has had bravecto before as a flea, tick preventative and was fine with it so possibly they will try that next. I was actually given a dip to do at home but I freaked out when I opened it and smelt it and when I diluted it and put it on his skin he seemed so uncomfortable so I quickly washed it all off! Then the whole of the UK has run out?! Vet canā€™t get it anywhere so canā€™t go down that route now. I had confirmation today that he has an appointment New Yearā€™s Eve with a great dermatologist who specialises in bulldogs so Iā€™m VERY excited for him, hopefully we can go into the new year with some more answers and hope that he can fight this as I canā€™t bear how horrible it must be for him, he hates his cone so much but as soon as he takes it off heā€™s itching and the skin is so sensitive it just splits and bleeds I cried my eyes out at the vets the other day and said I just donā€™t know if this is fair anymore but she said he will get through this and at least we know he doesnā€™t have any diseases or anything life threatening going on. Heā€™s staying with my mum at the moment as itā€™s nice and quiet there and heā€™s started another antibiotic to attack the second bacteria caused by the secondary infection... thank you for all your advice I will definitely help him from the inside out and will keep you posted with any updates. Love to all your gorgeous bullies and have a lovely Christmas, frank will be getting extra kisses and cuddles ā™„ļøā™„ļøā™„ļø Xxxxxx

Hi everyone! Iā€™m new here, Iā€™ve joined specifically to see if I can find anyone whose bulldog has suffered with demodex/demodectic mange.
My gorgeous boy frank is 5 and for the last 11 weeks has been suffering really badly, it seemed to get better but now itā€™s much worse [emoji20] I have been to the vet 2/3 times a week since it started and theyā€™ve been brilliant. Theyā€™ve done all sorts of tests and ruled out any disease etc that could cause the demodex to multiply so they think itā€™s because he has a low immune system due to apoquel which has now been stopped.
He has had 2 months worth now of Simparica and has more bald patches and sores than ever which would suggest to me the mites are still there despite Simparica saying after 6 weeks theyā€™ll be completely eradicated. Iā€™ve been back this morning and the vet has now referred to a skin specialist. He has 2 types of bacteria causing infection on the skin so is alternating antibiotics. I hope that the specialist can get this sorted for him but I have searched all over the web and canā€™t find anyone else who has experienced this and discussed the journey.
Anyone out there that can help?
Many thanks
Lucy

I recall using NuStock on Duke n it did help. But he had a few missing hair like little holes. But wasnā€™t nowhere near like this issue. Then as you know went raw all disappeared slowly...

NuStock will cure Sarcoptic mange, which is called Red mange. It certainly would help with his sores. A "former" friend of mine had a Frenchie with herditary mange(Demodec.) and my vet gave her a shot once a month of ivermectin. She never had a "break out".
