Hello all.. Haven't been to the boards in a bit. Lord Stanley's had a rough few years. He's 9 now... He's been struggling with kidney disease and arthritis. Which brings me to my question... How do you know when it's time to make that unthinkable decision? How do I know that I'm just not...
Hello all, haven't posted in a while. Need some advice. Stanley is almost 7 years old now. He used to eat twice a day regularly. Now in the morning it seems he's uninterested in breakfast(but will eat treats or anything from our hands), but then he's ready for dinner early (obviously) and...
Fromms makes nice treats, we break them in half and give them to Stanley... He loves them. We give him the lamb and cranberry ones and/or the parmesan cheese ones.

Update..
He wouldn't eat last night even from the new bag. So I gave him a few spoonfuls of a can of Fromm's Shredded Pork that we had. He ate that with no problems.
Today he's eaten his morning 1 cup with no problems. I wasn't home when he ate, so I'm not sure if it was from the new...
Ok, thanks... We'll try that. It was just strange that it started literally the first feeding after I bought the new bag. He always eats with no problems (unless he's sick)..
He's 2years/9mos and he gets 3 cups daily divided into two feedings. 1 1/2 cups in AM/PM..
He's 68lbs, so the Fromms feeding guide says 3 - 3 5/8 daily, so he's on the low side of that.
Hey all,
Long time no post. Stanley has been doing great! But this week, something strange has happened. I picked up a new bag of Fromms (pork and peas) on my way home from work Friday, and did like I always do.. Dumped out what was left in the container, poured the new bag in, and put the...
Hello all. Sorry I didn't get a chance to update. You guys were right (as usual), Stanley went right back to eating as normal the next day...
All is good.
Hi again,
Well, Stanley was feeling better and eating normally, and yesterday we moved to our new apartment, and he hasn't eaten since we moved in. I'm sure he will eventually, but has anyone ever experienced this? He's drinking water and going outside fine, but you can tell he's stressed...
Laurie I wish I could take credit for that fire pit, but that's a public area next to the pool at my apartment complex. Stanley loves that spot. He makes me take him over there every time we go outside.
A little update for all. Stanley is going much much better. After a couple of days of bland diet, he went right back to his normal diet. We are working on bringing his amount of food down, and he's feeling much better.
Thanks again for everyone's input. You guys are great!
Steve...
2BullyMama I know, I just read your post. Poor Lambeau..
Here's Stanley sleeping during my lunch hour today... He loves to sleep with his back against a wall and his head around the corner. So goofy.
UPDATE - Stanley ate last night (bland diet) and did well. He woke me up at 1am to go outside, which is a bit unusual, but he went out and did is business quickly.
I spoke to the vet, she said probably a stomach bug and that we should do a dose of pepcid last night and try regular food this...
I went home for lunch and my wife had made rice and hamburger meat. I fed him some and he destroyed it... lol We'll give him more for dinner.
On that note, how do you transition back to "normal" food after the bland diet? Do you mix it in 50/50 for a while, or just switch back?
Haven't...
