Definitely won't give up! Raw is too good for him.
He pooped twice today. The later one today was still soft but definitely "thickening" up.
Although, he has been scratching himself more lately. I'm worried it's an allergic reaction. Going to give him a bath, as he definitely needs one...
Thanks for the quick reply!
I figured if there was gonna be a change, to maybe give some more bone.
He's probably only eaten maybe 1/2 lb of food in the last day and a half. First day he didn't eat anything until the very end of the day. He didn't even finish it.
Today, he went at the...
Conan has been having quite the soft stool lately. Diarrhea quality. Not totally just liquid but definitely ends up in a chunky mass. I'm hoping (assuming) that is probably due to just overall stress of the change in home, environment, and even food as I've been feeding him some ground up raw...
A couple shots my friend took of Conan today. He was a bit scared at first, wouldn't eat and just slept a ton. But when I finally hand fed him some of his delicious raw chicken, he came alive and really started to feel at home. Now for night #1. He seems to love his crate and this towel I got...
I have heard so many varying numbers regarding this. I've read in books that you should be at 3-5x a day, as well as saying 2x, even at puppy stage. I guess if he's not eating the amount you gave him, then I can guess more eating sessions makes sense. My breeder said 2x has always worked for...
"Designer breed", "man made dog", all of these are buzz words and a combination of words that truly takes away from what the English Bulldog is - a dog. Regardless of it being bred to LOOK a certain way, you need to delve deeper into the actual anatomy of the bulldog. It's insides - anatomy...
Thanks for this thread. As I'm getting my guy pretty soon, this will be very helpful.
EDIT: Oh, out of curiosity sake, how much are you attempting to feed him per day? Around 2 lbs worth? Thanks.
Hate to nag, but last question regarding a raw diet (which I'm definitely doing when I get my guy), what sort of treats do you use for training purposes? Any specific brand that are nice small sizes and can be given for training treat purposes? Or do you use fruits/veggies? Any suggestion would...
I know I've read all about the 2-3% of bodyweight in this thread. I understand that. However, I'm having a tough time wrapping my head around being able to buy raw for my dog without thinking about how costly, for example, a steak is to buy at the store. Do you use a butcher? If not, could you...
I am soon to get my little guy from the breeder and she has been using Orijen puppy. I asked her about RAW and she says it's a good diet but to start with Orijen and change later. A part of me wants to listen to her because she has far more experience than I do and the other part of me is...
I'd abandon any bag of dog food if it could be the source of the issue. My breeder uses Orijen and her dogs react absolutely perfectly towards it. It is a Canadian product, so maybe you should look into it.
I'm in the same boat, Bulliemom. :) I still need to wait a few more weeks for Conan, but it's killing me! I got all his stuff setup and no puppy to enjoy it. Driving me crazy!
Conan the Barbarian, after the comic/film. Also, a big contributor was the fact that I am a huge Arnold Schwarzenegger fan. He'll be introduced to people by full name so I don't run into replies like, "Oh, you named him after Conan O'Brien?!?!" ... yea, I named him after a red haired late night...
