Oh man, haven't commented in awhile, but had to drop in. So sorry about this. heart-breaking. But if this is any help: I took tramadol to manage disc pain, and I had good results. It's constipating, and it can be sedating, but it's pretty safe long-term from what I understand, better than the...
What a pretty girl! Looooove the brindle. Haven't been on here in awhile, but I caught your post on my twitter feed. Our girl had some skin stuff that came and went with this latest heat wave (we're in San Diego), but when I looked at your pictures they reminded me of mange.
She looks about...
Lupe had a bad reaction to a bordatella vaccine. When I say bad, Im talking heavy congestion in her lungs and nose. She basically GOT the flu b/c she either picked up a different strain where we boarded her or got it from the vaccine.
The only time I've boarded since then was in Utah while...
Awe, she's such a pretty girl!! And she knows you're out to fix what's wrong.
So, I groom Lupe's lady parts every evening with witch hazel, but now reading your post I'm thinking I should just wipe after each pee if I can. We've had all sorts of UTI probs, but reeled it in with food changes, a...
Good news! Our Boston's biopsy result was benign. It a rare splenatic mass/congestion...but they removed the whole organ, so they consider her "cured." And waiting over the past few days, I've done more research on food and supplement changes I can implement to keep both my dogs' immune systems...
I'm thinking of starting Lupe (5yrs old) on an immunity supplement. This is coming up for a few reasons. She's healthy, but her fur sib just had a splenectomy b/c of a large tumor (Miles is a Boston Terrier, 11 yrs). Waiting for the biopsy results. I understand the cancer diet etc, and am...
You'll get a lot of quality advice here for sure. When we went through this a vet tech said the Hill's c/d or s/d clears crystals because there's just a lot of sodium, which makes dogs drink more. Pathetic. (And ethically questionable, if you ask me!) That said, we did stay on that for awhile...
We rarely travel without Lupe. She does great. I realize this is a little over the top, but you might consider keeping a gallon of purified or distilled water in the car and hotel. Sometimes the change in municipal tap water can upset a sensitive tummy that's already a little green from the car...
San Diegans here! We love beach days (which become bath days when we get home). It's refreshing, soft on the paws. Good times! Plus brindle looks so pretty in the sun, right?! :-)
Yes! So glad someone mentioned this because I thought we just had an odd ball bully. Vet said her grazing didn't sound related to a health issue. She goes from the clover that grows under the trees. I've scoured everything for toxic properties.
Oh gosh, it's been soooo long since I've been in here (work, technology....you know the excuses!!!)but I wanted to chime in since we've been through this. same symptoms (blood), same treatment (antibiotics, canned food)... The journey was long!
Ask around and do some research. It's possible...
Yes! Long ago the vet said we should "discourage" Lupe from licking her paws (she had a yeast infection at the time), so I just assumed she was transferring that urge to her toys. Kind of annoying, but she seems to have an internal schedule and stops after about 5 minutes and takes a nap.
