I'd go with the cone idea. Seems much less traumatic than anything else I can think of. Or you can borrow my Shih Tzu. Gravy doesn't much like me messing with his tail pocket, but he'll let my Shih Tzu lick it clean. :*(
I'd keep on eating. Just kind of avoid the licked spot. My time to actually sit down & eat is limited, so I wouldn't waste the time to change plates. I occassionally share ice cream or yogurt with one of my cats. Their mouths are probably cleaner than my kids mouths! :P
I have always used Head & Shoulders & it works great, an smells good. I do use baby shampoo around the face though. But since starting fish oil every day and changing food (from Kibbles N Bits to Taste of the Wild) the skin issues seem to have basically disappeared. And there's no more doggie...
I think people must be mistaking English Bulldog for some other breed. They obviously don't realize it's the cute, sweet, wrinkly UGA dog. I'd make sure to open with that. You'd be surprised how many people have no clue about dog breeds & just generalize all of them.
But on a side note, I'd...
I use a ceramic bowl that gets dumped, washed, & refilled once a day. Gravy isn't a horribly slobbery drinker, but there's enough slime to warrant a daily wash & refill. And he always leaves little pieces of mooshy dog food floating in there. I came this <----> close to picking one of those...
Gravy's major trigger word is "GO"... but especially "You wanna go to school?". He knows that means we're taking the kids to, or picking them up from, school. Or when he sees the kids getting their shoes on, he knows what's up.
Does anyone else have a bully that has a 'trigger'? Like, something that makes him/her completely bonkers?
Gravy has two...
1) My Mom. When she comes over Gravy goes NUTS and will knock her on her butt if she's standing, or trying to walk in the door. He LOVES her and can't control himself...
Hmmmm, yeah, my 22 month old daughter is always sharing something with Gravy or our Shih Tzu. I figure it'll help build her immune system! That and dropping food, picking it up, and eating it before I can get it from her because I know it's covered in dog hair! :barf:
My male Shih Tzu growls sometimes when my husband and I hug. He's less than 2 years old and been with us since he was about 8 weeks old. It's not a vicious sounding growl, it almost seems 'playful', but I just assumed it was because he was jealous of my hubby touching me. He also used to growl...
