General Question Any tips for giving Ivermectin?

Guinny is on weekly ivermectin for the same issue at the moment. The first day I tried what the vet had showed me so simply at the surgery - squirting the syringe into his mouth, well you have to catch the little rat first, after 20 minutes of chasing and wrestling him to the ground I thought I...

    Help Needed! MITES !!!

My pup Guinness is still fighting the demodex battle, we thought we had beat it early this year but then moved house and shortly afterwards he was showing signs again of hair loss, itching etc. skin scrapes have shown egg larvae - he's now on ivermectin one a week for a year as vet said he is a...

    Spirulina?

Update: no green poop so far, and Guinness is now clear of all mange, his coat is looking nice and glossy these days with daily fish oil and spirulina still part of his regime. There are definitely no negative side effects so far, as to if the spirulina is making any difference alone, hard to tell:)

Guinny had his second negative scraping today, so we are stopping the treatment, such a relief. Just under two months of stress but he's cured!:) thanks to everyone here for all the support, gave me a lot of great advice which really helped.

New to the bulldog world - allergies

Merry Christmas to everyone, hope it was a happy one! We have had great news at guinny's vet check up, his first negative scraping! If he has another one next week then we can stop giving him the shots of dectomax:) his hair has grown back almost completely now, and is so shiny (I think the fish...

    Planking

My 7 month old bully is starting to push at some boundaries, kinda like a teenager I guess. He has been going to obedience classes where he's learning to "heel" on a leash. Now normally he will go anywhere with you on a leash happy as anything, but since the classes he has decided heel means...

New to the bulldog world - allergies

Guinny update, he's finally growing his hair again! His head is no longer bald and the fronts of his legs are slowly filling in. His next vet follow up is next week for skin scrapings where we will find out if we are winning the war. I'm very hopeful though, his daily regimen is breakfast of...

    Spirulina?

Has anyone tried spirulina supplements with their bully? I have been doing a fair bit of research into immunity boosting (as Guinny is still dealing with Demodex) and it seems to feature quite alot. I have some as I take it, so thought I would do a trial and see how he goes with it. Hes...

    Demodex... again? you're kidding me.

Oh no! Im still fighting my first round with the awful demodex, my 5 month old bully Guinness is looking pretty bald around the head and on the front of all his legs at the moment but the infected spots seem to have responded to the antibiotics. Hes on week 5 of Dectomax shots this week and my...

    Demodex Treatments and other...

Little Guinny is slowly improving now, the scabs under his chin and behind his ears are gone, and the spots on his legs definitely look smaller. He's not scratching as much which definitely is helping the healing process. Now if only I could get him to grow some hair back!:) poor thing balding...

New to the bulldog world - allergies

He's doing a little better, losing his hair badly but the spots are going away a bit on his tummy and legs, just still under his chin. He's not scared of the kitchen as bad phew! I just hope the fish oil kicks in soon to bring back his beautiful hair!! Maybe next week will see improvement :(
