I have been doing a lot of research lately on commercial dog food, dog reactions etc.. lately and just wanted to point out, from what I have been reading. Chicken (chicken, chicken meal/ by products) seems to be a significant trigger for allergies when present in commercial dog food. This is not...
It is not necessarily a good thing that your vet gave the anti-nausea injection, as that is just suppressing the bodies own tendancy to expell the problem when it was first in the stomach. I would run your dog to get an ultrasound, just to be on the safe side.
Mine also has entropian. I was under the understanding that that is the problem with entropian, because one of the lids is turned in, hair irritates the cornea (causing ulcers etc...). My understanding was the entropian surgery pinned the eyelids back as to not have the hair grow towards the eye...
I don't have another higher energy breed, but 1 of my bullies likes to take longer walks and the other one doesn't really like to leave the step when its warm outside, but I cant really leave her on the step so I have to put her by herself inside while I take the other out for a walk. I feel bad...
Actually just watched a show last night where a lady bred her pug (similiar brachysyphalic (sp?) and body shape). The momma dog died a few weeks after due to uterus complications, sad... But one interesting thing I learned was since the momma dog was under anestesia (as would a bully) in the...
Sorry, really do not want to offend anyone, but serioulsy, the world does not need any more dogs, especially from inexperienced backyard breeders. See rescue section for the THOUSANDS of dogs needing homes.
Dont assume Giardia will be checked for. My guy had it for months before it was discovered (was not checked until a 3rd stool sample was taken and sent to a different lab). Ended up stunting my pups growth and he is 3 years old and NEVER had a solid stool (now he need to have his anal glands...
Mine have been given this for last 7 months (2 squirts on each feeding). I can see the difference. Coats are amazing and I know that it helps a lot of internal functions. Great Stuff, a must.
I have found this basic rule of thumb (for most dogs) recommended from from a holistic vet (Dr Autumn):
1/3 cooked or raw meat (salmon must be cooked)
1/3 cooked or raw green vegetables
1/3 cooked whole grain (optional)
Avoid : Onions, high fats, grapes
Supplement "Dr Pitcairns 'healthy...
Most insurance companies will get your vet records and exclude any condition your dog has ever had as a 'pre-existing condition'. My Gracie had a yeast infection in her Rope fold when I got her, so the vet wrote that in her record, so when I got the insurance, they excluded ALL SKIN issues from...
Both mine LOVE sunbathing. Being in Canada we dont have too many days of concern but it does get pretty hot and humid in the summer. I let them do it for 10 minutes or so. When I put them in the house they go straight for the vents where the air conditioning is coming out. Last time, one of them...
Disappointing, but there are tens of thousands of dogs (including many purebred puppies of all breeds) looking for a good home. So now that you have decided you could take on one more, its fun to look. I am always looking on pet finder for rescues that I could take (even though I know I really...
