Dog Food to help prevent urinary tract issues

My vet has recommended Royal Canin SO dry kibble, in conjunction with her medication. She is no longer on meds and doing well. Been eating this now since beginning of August. Any non RX kibble or wet that is a good in prevention of urinary issues. I fully understand that they are only opinions...

    UTI

The med that Josie is on for uti really seems to be working. She pees but does not feel the urge, even when we go outside. I take her out but she would rather go back inside. Not sure which med it is. Either clavamox or Tramadol. The Tramadol is done tomorrow morning. Doing extremely well with...

    Luxating Patella Surgery

Can cranberry supplements in vitamin section be used. It's hard to get her to drink more. Although adding water to her food does help. I'll add a few cups of water to her kibble. She licks that and then eats.

    swellied lips

Doesn't have any dental issues or insect bites etc. She groans and rubs her face on my body. I could be wrong. Maybe it is a signal of being excited. I am her main squeeze.

    swellied lips

Just curious why our Josie's lips swell up on the sides when she gets all lovie dovey? Not permanent, just when she is showing he affection.

    Luxating Patella Surgery

Our Josie came home today after spending the day at the vet hospital. She had surgery on rear knee/patella. Problem occurred when she slipped on ice or got leg caught in ice hole on yard this past winter. Running on ice/snow not a good idea. Slowly recuperating but walking around house. Eating...

    Luxating Patella

Her leg has improved, but we will still go ahead with the surgery. Depending on severity costs between $700-$900. But she is worth it. Get it done before summer activities.

    Luxating Patella

Our Josie had to visit the vet today. She was not putting any pressure on her left, rear leg. Turns out that she has a luxating patella. Most likely due to slipping on ice. She is on pain meds. She does not have pain when relaxing, only when moving. She might need surgery, but will wait 2 weeks...

thank you. It does state that humans are susceptible as well. No raw pork for my dogs, including bones.

    Olde English bulldog

Tomorrow is the big day. We pick Zoey up at 1pm. Do you think I should put Josie in another room for a bit to let Zoey adjust. What about keeping Zoey in her kennel where she feels safe for the time being? Thanks

    Fresh Pork Bones

If I offer a bone it is a fresh knuckle bone. The rest she would destroy and swallow. Just too much invested to get my dog plugged up on bone meal or choke on. So I'm not concerned about pork in general. Just bone splinters that get swallowed and cause possible tears or blockage. If that weren't...

    Winter Sucks

My Josie is sooo not into winter. She refuses to go outside to pee or poop until absolutely necessary. I come home at 8 am and she snoozes away until about 4pm. I call her, push her along. Nope, not gonna happen. She pees and poops good. Just too lazy I think. Not everyday, but some days just...

Taste of the Wild Pine Forest

This might be old news already. Taste of the Wild has a new kibble. It's called Taste of the Wild Pine Forest. First two ingredients, venison and lamb. I know venison is healthy and very lean. My dog gets raw scraps when we process our deer. He licks his face in delight.:P
