I hate these backyard breeders that make up their own mixes of breeds. They only care about a trend and making money, they don't care about the health and well being of a dog.
Is that a thing? breeding English bulldogs with Pit bulls, why would someone want to do that? It just sounds very wrong to me.
If you should ever decide to breed your dog, stick with a professional breeder with a good long history with bulldogs, not some backyard breeder.
I had to come back to say No again to shipping a dog. I just don't understand why anyone would consider it. You wouldn't ship a child so why ship a dog?
I don't need a dog bad enough that I would need to go beyond my driving range and have one shipped. The right dog will show up within the...
Yes, I would definitely get a 2nd opinion. I think that the vet was wrong to just suggest that it's a regular bulldog breathing issue. Congestion is something that should be taken seriously in a bulldog, especially a pup
Harlow gets one or two if there is a change in her diet. A change back and they start to clear up fairly quickly. In the meantime I spray Bactine or doggie hydrocortisone on them.
I wish that I could carry them, but those days are long gone - my guys are 75 and 80 pounds.
I do give them a boost getting into the car/truck though, just by lifting their fannies.
We've had 2 boys and 2 girls. The boys were the ones who nested, which I always thought was funny - you'd think that the girls would be the ones to nest.
Personally, I would never buy from a breeder who ships dogs. I just think that it is wrong and dangerous for a bulldog.
I also think that you should see the dog in person before you buy it and you should check out the breeder in person too. See their facility and how they care for their bulldogs.
