Is there anyone here who does NOT need to get their dog's anal glands expressed?
I have been trying not to have to get her glands expressed but her butt smells soo bad of metal and she leaks. when the vet expressed her glands, they are only a little bit filled.
do you have any advice or secret on preventing them having to get their glands expressed?
She is on vital essentials freeze dried raw salmon and her poo is already hard.

Have you tried adding some pure pumpkin to her food each day? Just like a tablespoon… it should help

@marshall351 You could try adding apples, carrots or wheat germ to her diet.

My baby's butt smelled like fish so bad, she would leak small amounts of discharge out if her butt. Starting probiotics daily has almost completely stopped this issue. Hope this helps.
