Karen, it could be a million things and it could be something very simple so try to take a deep breath and chill until Thursday. If the vet feared it was something "really bad" he would never let it wait until Thursday, right? In the meantime Lucy and I will keep you and Duke in our prayers and send positive vibes your way.

Please let us know how he looks when you get home. When you say it is goopy--it makes me wonder if he is starting to develop dry eye or KCS? It is not uncommon in the breed and it is common after an eye surgery. Have you tried the blink? Blink is not a permanant fix but it will cool and lubricate an irritated eye. Let me know if you need anything.

thank you so much.. we did use it.. I am thinking along those lines as well. it just looks weird? never saw anything like it? its in the color part of his eye.. dark red which makes me think blood. I just keep thinking back of all he went through with his surgery and don't want anything like that to have to be.. i called home and my son said he is absolutely fine? not pawing it and not blinking or anything? I think because it is his eye I am more worried than normal.. thanks again and I will stay in touch and let you know.

I agree with Becky, avoid that Google for the time being! I know it's hard tho as i'd probably be doing the same thing you are. It's great that you have the appt. scheduled w/the eye specialist this Thursday; at least he didn't think it was an emergency and had you come in right away. I could sense in your posts your anxiety and worry...all i can offer you is a hug and lots and lots of positive thoughts to Duke and you. :hug::pray:

Agreed. If the vet thought it was serious, he would have squeezed him in today. If he isn't hurting, then I wouldn't worry too much right now.

And that stupid google! Stop doing that! lol

Hey Karen I am willing to bet it is a blood vessel or bruise on the eye ! My dad broke a blood vessel in his eye and it sounded exactly like what you are explAining here . He looks like something out of a movie the red is so dark and creepy looking and taking over his eye lol. The doctor said you would never feel it or know how you got it, it's painless and there is no irritation . He just woke up and looked in the mirror and got all freaked out lol

I had a broken blood vessel in my eye. Didn't hurt but boy it looked creepy. People would run away from me thinking it was contagious. LOL Crossing my fingers that it's nothing more than that.

Thanks for the update cowsmom.

Wait a minute.
I thought that there was some bi-law or clause in the EBN agreement (when you sign up here) that says you **MUST FOLLOW UP** on any and all "freak out" styled posts so that your fellow posters don't continue to worry about what's going on. Didn't I read that somewhere?

LOL

this was the update:
[h=2]Re: My poor Duke[/h]
Hi everyone.. update on Duke ( sorry just got to work and our computers weren't working last night to write in )
first of all everything does happen for a reason.. took Duke to opthamologist.. ( said Duke's vision and eyes are EXCELLENT! thank GOD!!! the red circle we were seeing was actually GONE yesterday when we took him but after a throrough exam he said Duke has built up scar tissue in his red eye which at times can cause a iredecent looking film over the eye or make it look discolored. but all and all he was VERY happy with Duke's eyes.. ( i was SO worried he was going blind! ) so he has to use a gel based drop and wet drops every day for 2 months to help with the dryness ( @Lucymum actually thought this may have been the problem..

Then after his visit the little nutball starting RUNNING yes running without a limp through the house?? the opthamoligst ( who is also a regular vet ha ha ) look at Duke's rear leg and told us no fracture or anything and it was not swollen.. said what you all told me he must have pulled something so no walks or steps for 4 days.. but this morning he wasn't limping at all.

so as embarrassing as it is ( I will be humble ) Duke is A - OKAY!! and MOMMIE and DADDY Are so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :luv:THANK YOU ALL for putting up with me !
