Poor Wilson. He is such a handsome fella! I hope you find the magic thing he needs to manage the allergies soon.

Took the words right out of my mouth - um...fingers? Wilson is a gorgeous boy.

That's an interesting leash/harness thing he's got on. I've decided that Bo needs to be fitted for a harness and then I'm going to get a little red wagon to put Bea in - Bo can pull it - when she poops out halfway - as always - on our daily walk as a pack. ha ha

Vicaroo1000...Funny you should say that. People like that harness. I ordered it online and added the optional handle. It has been a lifesaver at the vets. I just grab hold of it whenever he decides he wants to visit the other girl doggies in the waiting room. My vet also has a couple of cats that just hang out in the waiting room which adds to the excitement. Mr. Wilson is super strong and I'm sure he could actually pull a small wagon (if he wanted to and on his terms). Actually he'd probably try to run away from it.:bully::hahaha:

Had a return vet visit to go over Wilson's allergy test. Wilson shows sensitivity to the following ingredients:

Lamb, Oats, Pork, Potato, Sweet Potato, Venison, and Wheat.

I've been feeding my dogs NVI Beef and Lamb but slowly transitioning to NVI Salmon. Will go all in to the Salmon now. Update: cowsmom pointed out to me that NVI Salmon has pork...so changing to NVI LID Turkey Meal instead.

Much to my amazement chicken, turkey and duck negative.

Barley, Beef, Beets, Carrots, Corn, Cow's Milk, Egg, Fish Mix, Peanut, rice, soy beans and yeast were all Negative as well.

Only bummer is that deer antlers have the same proteins as venison so I'll have to look for another chew treat. I asked the vet if Elk or Moose could be substituted and he said he was ask the specialist and get back to me. Just remember that this test is specific to Wilson and not a guide for all bulldogs. His allergies may still be environmental but that is a whole other list which I will have to research further as I'm rusty on my horticultural knowledge. At least I have something to work with and I hope to isolate the problem.

P.S. Forgot to mention. Negative for Cats!!! :)

Fontanafox - thank you for posting all of this. I'm facinated by this allergy testing and the amazing information it provides. I need ammo when I bring Bo in to see Dr. Terry again (he needs his booster shots for daycamp). All of this information was revealed through a simple blood sample? Wow!

Fontanafox Oh I'm so glad you got the results now and can help him. I was wondering when I was reading this again if it wasn't something he was eating with such a reaction. I'm going to get Sarah done also as she has much trouble to. I can't wait to hear of his improvement. Also on a side note I believe nvi salmon has pork in it not to far down the list as I see he is allergic to pork. Maybe nvi turkey limited ingredient or the chicken and turkey and duck if he doesn't do well with the salmon.

@cowsmom ...Oh my, you're right! I went to the NVI site and saw it did have pork as one of the ingredients. :blush2: I'd been on the go all day and I didn't see any ingredients on the bag. Just now went to the sight and checked. OK, I've changed my Petflow order to Instinct LID Turkey Meal option. Thanks for the heads up. My vet said the blood test is maybe 65% accurate but at least it gives me some direction. Will keep you updated.

I"m so happy that you have something at last to fight with ... and fight against ... if that makes sense. I'm hoping and praying that this new food is the wonder-drug for him!!!! He is simply gorgeous by the way!! Very photogenic!!

cowsmom...yes it really helps to know about the "not false negatives." And yes I've been through it and still am but I've also learned about the level of commitment that other bulldog owners can have for their dogs. Just today I went to my bulldog vets office to pick up some more skin supplements for BabyGirl and Wilson. While I waited I overheard one bulldog owner telling another how upon finding her dog deceased in the bathroom she called an ambulance. She claimed to have lost her mind and was in such a panic even though she's a practicing nurse and should know better. She seemed to be apologizing for her overreactions but I know it just shows you how much she loved her bully.

kazzy220...It is a fight. I'm fighting for a quality of life for my Mr. Wilson.

JAKEISGREAT...That handle was optional but I'm sooo glad I had it added on. It was a online purchase but I don't think they are in business anymore but there are similar sites that sell custom leather harnesses.
