Benadryl Long Term?

I was thinking about giving my EB Benadryl to control his itching. For those of you who use it every day, how long have they been on it and are there any problems with long term usage?

That's a very good question. I'm not sure, I've had Griz on it for up to a week. I took him off of it cause I wasn't sure how long either. No help here. I'll be checking back to see if anybody knows.

I just did a little search and from what I can see, there are no long term effects. I use it here sometimes too because we have some environmental allergies. I also read that if you give fish oil (Omega 3's), it will boost the effectiveness of the benedryl.

I have not heard of any long term side effects, as this concerned me as well.

Using any anti histamine over a longer period of time will have some negative effects.
Have you pin pointed what is causing the allergy?
Before you jump into benadryl daily I think you need to spend some time trying to narrow it down. I know its VERY hard but worth it if you can.
I always blame bad allergies in animals to poor breeding.
