Great! Let me know how it goes!

Hi. We are taking Louis V to see Dr Wright on Wednesday. After a long recovery he is finally feeling better. Now I believe he has cherry eye. Poor guy can't get a break. Do you think Dr. Wright is qualified for this? Just really nervous, I have read some scary things about cherry eye! Please let me know your thoughts!

Cherry eye is SUPER common in bulldogs so I am sure Dr. Wright has seen it before. In fact, my bulldog Truman has a cherry eye in one eye that goes in and out pretty infrequently, so it hasn't been a big deal for him or for us, but we did visit the vet to see what he had to say about it. For the most part, cherry eye is a cosmetic thing so try not to worry too, too much and I would proceed with your appointment with Dr. Wright. If you do need to end up fixing the cherry eye, he will likely do what any other vet would do, and refer you to a specialist.

Ugh! I know. I freaked out when I saw it on Truman but, in Truman's case and hopefully Louis', once his head fills out more and he matures, it will get better or even go away. Truman had one eye pop out as a puppy and we were advised to wait to see if the other came out or it got better. We also learned how to massage the cherry eye back into place, which is easy once you get the hang of it. Luckily, Truman's other eye never popped out and the eye that did pop out is pretty much a non-issue for him now. But yeah...it's not pretty, is it!?
