Hello,
Wally woke up today with a runny nose. He's almost 6months old. Is there anything we need to do for him or be aware of? He ate and drank fine. We can certainly take him to the vet but I'm thinking a runny nose may not warrant a visit (we already spend alot of time there!). Basically I just wanted to see if there was anything we should do for him or watch out for.
THanks!

It could just simply be Spring allergies, We live in Fl. and Vegas has extra watery eyes right now with everything blooming. If Wally's nose continutes to run and no other symptoms, maybe watery eyes, he can have 1 Benadryl per 25 lbs. At his age he should weigh that plus right now.

I agree with KMARINO ....allergies are super bad this year and my bully wakes up with a runny nose almost every day. If you are worried about it and it continues and starts turning yellow and green...then I would say go to the vet :)

Hi :) I wouldn't worry.. every so often Duke wakes with a runny nose as well. As long as he is eating and drinking and seems ok otherwise I wouldn't worry :)

Thanks everybody! Always nice to come on here and get some reassurance! We will keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't get any worse!

Hi everyone - Wally's mom here. I checked on him at lunch and it seems like it was just allergies. His nose was fine when I went home. I feel it myself so hopefully that is all it is.

Stig gets a runny nose from time to time too. Mostly when it gets a little chilly in the house. Just watch out when he exhales after taking a deep breath - I suggest ensuring your mouth is closed. :barf:

I've noticed my 3years old bully nose is running terrible. How do you give them benadryl. I really think he needs it I recently became a rescue mom for bulldogs.

It is 1 mg per pound of dog up to 3x a day. I use a teaspoon of vanilla ice cream to get the pills in them.

I would really check this out.. My English bulldog recently had a runny nose and at first I thought it's allergies but I took her in to be on the safe side and it turned out to be she had pneumonia... She had an affection and her lungs were full of water and I had to hospitalize her because this could lead to a hard breathing issue.
