Memphis cant walk on his back right leg...

I got home today to notice that Memphis would not get up n come to me which was very strange so i opened the door to take him out n he still didnt move n he luvs to go out. I went to him and luved on him n picked him up thinking he was just tired or lazy n when i sat him down outside he was holding one of his legs up. I started calling him n he litterally was limping barely even touching that foot to the ground and his hips look totally lopsided... When i first got him at 10 wks (he is 15 wks now) the vet did say that his hips were loose n that he should grow out of it so could it be one of his hips r out of socket? I am loading him up now to take him in to the vet but wanted to post to see if anyone has heard of this or had this happen to them... He has the wire crate so maybe he got one of his foot stuck? My husband did take him for a walk last night but he was fine early this morning...uggggg omgosh i hope he is going to be ok...

I am so sorry for Memphis, it must be painful. I hope he is okay.

Sarge did this once- he has bad hips and knees and he slipped down the stairs once and was in so much pain he started to shake and threw up. Took him to the er vet and they did x-rays but luckily nothing was broken/torn. He limped for a few days and then he was fine. We started giving him a supplement and ever sense then we havent had another episode. Hope Memphis feels better soon!

This happened to Mocha. We came home from work and she wouldn't do her usuall running and Jlo dance.Then we noticed she was limping. We rushed her to the vets and She took and Xray and it was a torn ligament. They gave her 2 shoots, one to make the swealling go down , the other for the pain. We where told to keep her from jumping and she had to be totally calm without any excersie for about 2 weeks.I also got her on Glyco Flex III for her joints. She has been great and no limping at all since then! I have stairs for Mocha also, one for the couch, one for my daughters bed and the other for my bed. Lets us know how it goes and what they tell you.

Please let us know what they say. Do not just go with the first opinion either, that has proven to be not always the best in these cases. See what the vet says then get a 2nd or 3rd opinion even if needed from a specialist. [MENTION=860]sheshistory[/MENTION] has too much info on displacia thats for sure. Lets hope it isnt that tho.

Winston had the same problem. He was completely immobile from the waste down and could barely stand to go the bathroom with my assistance. Turned out to be a compressed disk due to Hemivertabrae, common in curly tailed dogs. If you have not already I recommends x-rays to detrmine if it is a compressed disk and then the vet should put your bully on instense steroids for a couple of weeks to relieve him of the pain. He will also need to be crate rested while his back heals. Winston recovered very quickly after we got him on steroids and his back to his old self again.

Hi everyone, I am so sry to post n then not get back on here to update everyone. I have been crazy buzy n apologize. It turns out that Memphis's hip had come out of its socket yet went back in??? Not sure if I am 100% sure about my vet so if it ever happens again, Im thinking of taking him somewhere else... As of right now Memphis is running around n chasing my yorkie as if nothing had ever happened to him or I would have already taken him... STRANGEST thing... Thanks for all of the comments...
