Good day everyone, I hope you are enjoying the summer.
Itās me again asking for some opinions on a reoccurring UTI. Bella, an 80lb 11 year old female spoiled bully continues to have reoccurring UTI, here is where we are for 2019:
January 6th she was on Amoxiclav for 28 days for a UTI
February 20th she was on Clavulin for 8 days for a skin infection
May 2nd she was on Clavulin for 14 days for a UTI
July 17th she was on Clavulin for 7 days for a UTI
August 20th she started on Clavulin, I will give them to her for 14 days
I can see from the above dates that when she took the antibiotics for 28 days the UTI didnāt reoccur for 3 months.
On February 2nd she started taking two Zesty Paws Cranberry Bladder Bites per day to help with the UTI, because she showed signs of an UTI starting I increased that to four per day on July 22nd and have continued although I may cut it back to 2 or 3 now that she is on the antibiotics.
She also gets:
One 2080 mg of omega 3 (1430 mg EPA/570 mg DHA) fish oil per day.
One 400 mg of vitamin E oil every 3 days.
Half a tripe patty per day.
Coconut oil every day.
Due to an ongoing health issue she gets 5 mg of Prednisone every 3 days and has been for years.
In March/April the skin infection cleared up, now her coat is nice and thick and has never looked better. Hopefully the seasonal skin infection doesnāt return next winter but that may be wishful thinking.
Thank you for any suggestions you may have.
